Bottle from Tanakaya at home. Pale blond, slightly hazy, big white fluffy head. Aroma is lemony, grainy, herbal, bit of fruit (berries), yeasty. Crisp and refreshing. Taste is slightly creamy, herbal and floury. Very nice solid saison. Not mind-blowingly different, but pretty nice all the same.

Bottle from the brewery. Slightly opaque, big white head. Fruity aroma, a bit of spice. Dry and refreshing, very well balanced.

750 ml bottle. Slightly dark golden color with a foamy, pillowy head. Fruity, spicy aroma with honey and touches of green apple and grapefruit. Fruity, rich malt flavor with mandarin orange, honey, apple, rice, and pepper. Crisp, tangy, rather light in body and somewhat spritzy. An excellent saison. though I would prefer less rice, as its lingering after taste is unnecessary and takes away from the hops. It is there to make it more "Japanese," I guess.

Took this 75cl one home from Japan, let it settle for two months then tried it alongside Saison Dupont & Saison IV (unfair perhaps). The hopping fronts up well though does not linger quite as long as the others. I agree with KyL that the rice is too much - halve it - and dilutes the body in a beer style that needs grain to balance the floweriness of the hop mix.

My Bottom Line:
This citrusy, dry Saison’s pleasant aromatics hang on till the very end over mild straw-like cereals and brettanomyces allusions.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the pale straw blond.
-The herbal hop bitterness creates a great finish.
-The high level of dryness makes this one stand out to me.
-This is a wonderful base Saison with which Eigo-san can play for years. The Barrel-Aged version is becoming mindblowing already...

Aroma: very floral, ripe lemon, light banana ester, yeast, note of fresh, uncooked green peas. Flavor: floral, grainy malt, lemon, banana. At the end of the mid-palate, the bitterness kicks in and hangs on. Comment: very aromatic with a soft, gentle mouthfeel. Great stuff.

Soft slightly phenolic, spicy nose. Some sake qualities. Big bodied, smooth, though with high carbonation. Some bread, hay, rice, mineral, apple and a slightly sweet dry finish. Good Saison, though it falls well short of a classic Belgian.

Bottle thanks to KyotoLefty. Pours with a hazed yellow hued body and a lasting white head. Aromas are earthy, wooden, floral, peppery, phenolic and dry. Flavors are hoppy, spicy, floral, light pear and ginger. Bone dry. Grassy. Very nice carbonation. Great saison!
