3/13/12. On tap at the brewery as Iron Rat, but listed as 10%, so I guess itís this? Almost all black pour, ruby edges, with a small brown head that fades fast. Huge roast and coffee aroma with bits of tartness and caramel. Big roasty and chocolate kick but with loads of butterscotch... almost slick feeling. Itís not horrible, but nothing to phone home about.

Taste: roasted malts, chocolate, spicy
Overall: A great Imperial Stout with a solid bitterness and a thick/full body. Not overly sweet.

Growler thanks to IBrew2or3 at the tasting. Pours a almost pure black color with a medium brown head. The aroma is chocolates and light dark fruit. The flavor is nice; char, chocolates, some heat, roasted malts, nutty at times. A smooth drinking Impy for sure. It will appeal to those not looking for boozy over the top sweetness.

Draft at the brewpub. Midnight black with a little lacing. The aroma is of licorice. This drinks with a strong anise bite, and a tart bitter finish. (#3933, 6/27/2010).

On tap at the brewpub in Ybor City. Coal black viscous pour with a thick, creamy off-white head that leaves several rings of thick lacing. Aroma has some faint wisps of vanilla if a bit subdued. Flavor is full bodied with some hints of vanilla, brandy and a back end of marshmallows. Very tasty. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Very enjoyable.
