Growler sample at RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours brown to dark brown in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have some roasted malts, mild dark chocolate, resiny and earthy hops with moderate bitterness to the finish. Note as bold in the roasted malt department as the standouts of the category, but decent enough to try.

Growler shared that to jcwattsruger at RBWG grand tasting! Pours a lighter brown with minimal head and light lace. Aroma of decent piney hops, less roast than I would like. Taste follows, solid, nothing crazy or over the top.

Poured from a tap. Light brown color with a reddish hue, long lasting medium off white head. A light floral hop fragrance. Nice floral hops flavor with mild nutty characters and a slightly fruity finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler. Pours clear black with a large, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate and coffee malt with prunes, dates and figs, earthy, pine, and resin hops. Flavor is dark malt, heavy hops and bitterness with dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Deep amber pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is stiff resiny hops. Flavor is dominated by the hops and a semi sweet maltiness. A bit out of balance for me. ok but a black ipa should be black

Listed on the brewpub chalkboard as "3 Black IPA," I believe this must be the "Midnight Crossing," which I understand they released around the end of last month. On tap 4 oz. sampler at Tampa Bay Brewing Company in Yber City (Tampa), FL. Clear, very dark rusty brown with a creamy cream-yellow head and excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine and citrus. Taste of pine, citrus and roasted malt. Medium/light body and low/medium carbonization with a thin, but creamy, mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very tasty black IPA from Tampa Bay Brewing. Dark brown hue with good roasty notes and a nice hop balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
