3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A dark clear brown IPA with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, smooth floral hops over caramel malt with nutty notes. In mouth, a nice nutty malt and chocolate malt with light peated notes, loads of floral and resinous hops, nice and smooth. On tap at Datz, Dec. 9 2012.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark, translucent almost-black with a thick head, quickly recedes and leaves behind some decent lacing. Really heavy citrus on the nose, along with some lager-like malt and sweetness. Flavor is similar - roasted malts up front, grapefruit and pine hops at the end. Medium-bodied. Pretty interesting.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very good, aroma is tons of citrus. Flavor is very sweet caramel and malt. This could pass for an American barley wine. Not much roast and aftertaste is earthy hop bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
3/13/12. On tap at the brewery. More of a dark brown pour than black with a small tan head thatís gone fast. Light hoppy aroma that is a bit dank and very citrusy, especially lemon, almost cleaner-like, with bits of roast and chocolate. Bolder roast touches in the flavor with bits of coffee and chocolate with more zesty, citrusy hop aspects. Not too bad.
