3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This pour was filled with molasses and hints of anise. It had loads of body and a bit of chocolate to it. I have not seen this beer on draft for a few years now, but am constantly looking for it when I visit the BrewCo.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at the source. Black. Brown edges. Small brown cap. Aroma begins mild, gains intensity as it warms- roasty malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, licorice, subtle alcohol, hints of grains. Flavor is similar with more impact- adds nougat and some rich malt, a little alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body, smoother than balanced. Solid.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub. Been meaning to get down there to try this one since it was tapped, and looks like I made it just in time. I was told that the pint I had was the last of what they had available. Sweet. Pours a dark reddish brown boddy with a thin, tannish head. Medium retention, medium lacing. Aromas of dark fruits, chocolate, malts, molasses, caramel. Fore is all of those flavors, blended superbly, with the slightest alcohol burn. Finish is coffee and choclate, with the dark fruit notes showing well also. Finish is medium length, palate is sweet and sticky in the mouth. My favorite TBBC brew so far, itís just too bad they didnít have any more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint poured a dark crimson body, with a wispy light khaki head. The olfactory sense sweet, molasses, brown sugar; maple syrup then follows with a plethora of dark fruits; dates, figs, and sweet red apples. The flavor was all that was mentioned above, but with suggestions of coffee and chocolate on the finish. The beer is was delicious, but too sweet for a third pint. So I switched to the IPA and a glass of water.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at TBBC. Opaque, oily, deep and dark mahogany body with glimmering chestnut and soft ruby hues. Thin, light beige head with modest retention. Aroma is light to the point of annoyance, certainly served far too cold, so I wait. And wait. After what seems like an eternity, dusty baking cocoa trickles slowly from the vessel. Raw anise follows, molasses and milky chocolate bars bring in the rear. Alcohol in the nose is tingling, though masked reasonably well. Flavor showcases detectable yeast remnants. Great caramel character is hiding underneath. Moderately sweet, relatively little bitterness. Well carbonated palate, medium to medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Finishes spicy and pretty roasty. Pretty tasty, a bit of a letdown.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at brewpub. No aroma. Totally opaque body with a tan head. No lace, which is odd for a Tampa Bay brew. Sweet with a high alcohol presence. Nice flavor. Warming. Pretty good brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft... Pitch black lager with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma offers notes of molasses, chocolate and port with suggestions of tobacco and smoke. The vinous, malty flavor delivers plenty of molasses, some chocolate and well roasted (but not burnt) barley malt. Medium sweet; moderately bitter. Full-bodied with a motor oil mouthfeel and delicate carbonation. Lightly sweet, ashen finish.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
My first ďmug clubĒ pour. Too bad I canít see the color of the beer. I imagine its pretty darn dark. That was later verified once the light and dark (multi colored) brown head dissipated. I smell sweet malt to molasses and oddly sweet smelling burnt malts. I also get a big dose of dark fruitiness too. The flavor starts with sweet dark fruitiness like dates and shriveled plums and also sweet molasses. There is a burnt malt note in there but I can feel it struggling to peek out from behind the dark fruit and molasses.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big cocoa/coffee aroma with avague vegetal aroma and a very high concentration. Beandip mentioned soy and I can see that, but it didnít hit me right off. The body is a deep/dark brown and holds a diminishing mocha colored head. Fore is a cocoa/chocolate bomb with a god bit of alcohol and some mild dark fruit notes and a faint hint of caramel and coffee. Has a fairly creamy mouthfeel, but does possess a clean lager-like finish. A nice effort that comes across as a sort of Porter/Imperial Stout hybrid with a bit of bock thrown in. Iíll definitely be back for another pint or three.
