Can from the brewery. Pours out an attractive, well carbonated orangey clear color with a small whitehead. Aroma is of grassy hops, light citrus, lots of cracker/bready grains, light sweetness. Taste is better than the aroma, sweet bready cracker malts, citrus hops, light grass, some mild resin and a moderate lingering bitterness.

16 oz can thrown in by MeadMe. Thanks, Greg. Trying to get through a bunch of stuff over the next couple weeks. Pours a hazy orange amber hue, a bit more hazy, some more golden orange glow on the edges but a darker middle. Bigger cakey offwhite head atop stays as a firm layer, laces ok. Aromas are lemon, florals, lots of grass. A bigger earthy and mellow citrus hop component offers some life, touch catty, with soap, gentle bready malts, biscuits, more soap and florals. Initial is firmly bitter, florals and lemon, grass, earthy big bitterness hits tha palate up front. Middle shows a bit sweeter slant of caramel and toast, toffee and biscuits. Sweeter middling elements start to focus into backend, a touch sticky and more girthy. Soap, earthy hops, florals hang on into that backend but a sustained bitterness doesn’t hang around. Big bitter wallop up front that tapers out to a smaller feel into the finish, sweeter substantial maltiness hits in the middle and hangs on through the finish a bit stronger where this beer starts to lose me. It’s ok, the hops lack character and the dying hops and subsequent bigger maltiness as we move on isn’t what I personally want in an IPA. It’s ok. Big maltiness even through the abrasive stronger hop front end starts as I settlle into this thing. It’s just a weird beer. Sweet backend and malty girthy feel as we keep moving further in and in. I’m sure it’s a different animal down there.. but it’s just not really my thing (Small malt bill, big assertive flavorful hop profiles).. Still, apparently it’s a historic beer down there. So, kudos to getting to try it. Cheers!
