Ale Camino is named after El Camino Real, The Historic Route 101 which runs along the California Central Coast. El Camino Real translates as "The Road," "The Journey," or "The Way." Tap It Brewing Co. is located just off this historic route in the city of San Luis Obispo, and its where this family-run company brews their extraordinary hand-crafted beers. You can taste the Journey, and the way of passionate artisanal brewing in every sip. Ale Camino is an American style Amber Ale hand-crafted with a blend of malt and hops, which give it a truly unique character. The aroma blends sweet malts, a hint of chocolate, and a light earthy nose that highlights the malty aromatics. Ale Camino has a round and full-bodied flavor, full of sweet malts, chocolate malts, crystal malts, and hop varieties Willamette and Zythos added for minimal bitterness and aroma, hand-crafted together for a rich, complex flavor and aroma. This amber finishes with a clean, semi dry and light hoppy finish.

Tap @BeerNV. Standard looking amber, aroma malt heavy with caramel and light nuts, slight citrus hops presence in the flavor as well. Not bad.

Poured from the 12oz bottle into a shaker glass. Very dark amber edging on mahogany with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is pale and caramel malt with some light roast. Flavor is semi-sweet and nutty with mild bitterness. Medium bodied. First amber I've had in quite some time but this is pretty decent.

12oz brown bottle. Unclear orange appearance. Nice beige head. Aroma has caramel malts. Taste has grains, caramel and chocolate. Some bitterness at the end. Soft bodied and easy to drink. Pretty nice amber ale, I like this brewery.

355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and light fruits with some herbal notes. Taste is a light fruity and caramel malty sweetness with a herbal hop bitterness and a dry finish. Light bodied with adequate carbonation. Overall, a fruit and malt forward amber ale that is decent, but nothing really stands out.

Amber ale with decent head. Quite weak tasting with a bit of an acrid Smokey aftertaste. Not one to have again. (K)

Bottled (AbM). Amber colour, small off-white head, which lasts for quite a good bit. Aroma is nutty, some biscuity and cookie like malts along with caramel and fudge. Also a slight wooden and resiny touch to it, but mostly big on the malty side. Flavour is very similar, but also has some slight toasted and chocolaty notes to go along with it. Balanced and quite tasty amber ale.
