3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Darby’s Liquor Store, Vancouver
Hazy golden color. The fruity hops aroma reaches you when the beer is still in the bottle. The mouthfeel is lean and rather dry; the malt flavor has toffee accents; the hopping is resiny, oily, piney, and fruity (with a touch of tropical fruits as well).
Very nice. I would like to drink it fresh from tap.

A- pours a dark gold with a finger of off white head and light retention.
S- lemon zest, soap, grass, jasmine tea, thyme, green pepper, light pine resin, biscuits and caramel. Fairly standard but well proportioned.
M- light to medium tacky body with a light to medium malty palate. Mild carbonation.
T- dry and sweet grasses plus pepper up front. Lemon, soap, tea, snap peas, green peppers follow. Grapefruit, muddled citrus, bitter grasses and mineral water complete the sustained ending. Oddly not much malt in the taste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Last half of last beer and last drop of energy -- earthy malts, zip, pine, unsweetened gf, peach, pepper. Tastes and smells really good but each bottle seemed a bit underwhelming - which is fine but I guess I wanted more moreness. Solid beer, crazy price. 1AM reviews just don’t have the same bite they used to.

Poured an orange clear color with three fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up. Uneven, light lacing on the sides of the glass. Good retention.
Smelled citrus notes, orange, apricot, light peach, Orange Creamscicle, tangerine, floral hops and some bitterness.
Tasted orange, Orange Creamscicle, fairly bitter, floral hops, citrus hops, some apricot, honey, tangerine rind and caramel.
Light body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, very bitter finish.
A good beer, but not great. A bit disappointed overall.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a light amber with a big, frothy, white head. Nose is piney hops. Taste is nicely balanced; very sharp bitter notes, but sweetness comes through nicely. Medium body, lively carbonation. Good IPA, although I'm not a huge fan.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Actually a truly good IPA with bountiful hop and pine characters. The pour is a bright amber highlighted with orange and golden hues. The nose is fresh, frutiy and resinous with big pine and grapefruit zest aromas. Mild caramel and toasted bread malts up front, lingering citric bitterness yet a good balance on the finish overall.
