Great beer from San Luis Obispo. Lots of hops in a crisp beer. Clear color, malty finish. Pine and citrus in there somewhere. Like an orange pine cone.

Bottle. No date. Tropical, peach, stonefruit aromas are first noticeable, followed by herbal, citrus rind nuances. Not bad.. Mild bitterness lingers with herbal, citrus rind flavors that seem to transition back into peach/stonefruit flavors again. I wish I knew how old this bottle is and would love to try this fresh from the brewery. Surprising better then I expect for some reason. Glad I picked up a bottle.. I'd drink it again for the fair price. Rating based on random bottle.. It's probably better fresh on draft.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Rating #815 - December 9, 2013 - Beer 9 of the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar - 7% Clear golden amber pour with a decent white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is syrupy, pastry shop malt, mild citrus. Might have an older bottle, as the hop character is barely present, very light bitterness in the finish. Not bad, but would love to try this on tap.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cutting to the chase, this is a great beer. A golden beer with a good head that laces very well and lingers. You can smell the hops but also some sweetness that is very pleasant. Upon tasting, grapefruit and other citrus hits the tongue and really turns the bitter hops into something great.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BeerAdvent 2013 Day Nine. Pours amber white head. Nose jumps out distinctly Simcoe with its resin-peach qualities, flavour is more peach, pine, caramel, nicely balanced. I know it’s a hard hop to find but if a good local company started brewing an IPA with Simcoe it would be a best-seller in this household; there’s simply no substitution. So glad the description here proves I was right haha, doesn’t happen very often. This is a "99 percentile" IPA for me.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A great IPA. Pours an orange amber with moderate white head that laces down the glass after every sip. Aroma is dominated by orange citrus and grapefruit with subtle caramel from the malt. Bitterness is quite smooth and balances really well with the toasty malt. Orange rind type flavor also comes through from the hop rounding out the entire experience. One of the better IPAs I have ever had. I would not pass on an opportunity to try this!

Aroma of pine and citrus. It's been a long time since I've had an IPA this smooth. Hop bitterness fades into awesomeness. So good.

Bottle, from day 9 of the Beer Advent Calendar 2013. Bright orange amber with a thick pillowy light golden head. Terrific bouquet of Pacific Northwest hoppy goodness, very vibrant. Juicy citrus hop flavours open the palate, some perfumey pine, but mostly tangerine and grapefruit. The malts are equally lovely, a little doughy, a little toasty. It all finishes with a lengthy bitterness. What a terrific surprise!

Sampled on tap. A really crisp ipa with a big hop palate. Quality brew and was nice cold and at room temperature.
