3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the bomber into an English pint glass. Light amber with minimal cream colored head. Aroma is primarily light and citrusy but there seem to be some dark fruit notes lurking in the background. Flavor has some biscuity malt up front with some earthy and citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and body is slightly heavy. Not a bad IPA, but I’m not seeing what all of the fuss is about? Wondering if I got an old bottle as there is no date, although it looks like other reviewers are having similar thoughts as of late, so perhaps a quality control issue?

Bomber. Piney nose, with some citrus, quite fruity, and a bit of fumes. Light amber/orange color, fluffy thick head. Sweetish caramel initial, piney, peach, light tropical fruit (maybe mango), good bittering in finish. Medium heavy body. Fairly well balaced and very drinkable. Good.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is fairly ubiquitous around San Luis Obispo, CA, which is where it comes from; not quite Firestone Walker "805" ubiquitous, but easy to find on tap handles and in restaurants all around town. I picked up a bottle to close my Friday night down, and thought it was fine, just fine. It’s fresh, clean and piney, with a terrific aroma of hops bouncing out of the glass and into your nose canal. Really nice balance, with light bittering, 7% alcohol and crisp malts. Outside of pine there’s a faint hint of lemon, but not grapefruit. It is indeed hard for a "single" IPA to stand out these days, as legion of raters before me may have mentioned, but you’d do a lot worse than to drink the go-to IPA for hundreds if not thousands of Central Coast beer doggies.
