argo0 (6284), Washington DC, USA Mar 15, 2008 (12oz bottle) Clear light amber body topped by pillowy, medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some floral/orange, light honey. Taste is medium sweet, floral/orange, bread/biscuit, some caramel, honey. Light-medium body, light acidity. Relatively mild bitterness, could pass for an ESB if desired. All the same, a surprisingly pleasant (given the brewer) beer. JorisPPattyn (4638), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 24, 2008 Good head, creamy, over copper-chestnut beer. US hops, with some chestnut or nutflour malts’ balance. Quite sweet, again nutty - oxydized notes, but pleasing, malts; toffee apparent. Too sticky, too much restsugars to have a pleasing body and texture. If it’s a pre-Prohibition thing, I’m not even guessing about the style. BückDich (4603), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 22, 2007 Bottle: Bronze, light white head, light lacing. Nose of dusty wood and light spicy earthy hops, some chemical. The flavor is like bile with the bitterness and some really funky oyster shell/ocean note. Funky. Mosquito spray maybe? Awful and gagable. Tmoney99 (3740), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bottle 12 oz from Kroger. Poured clear amber color with large white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sweet grainy aroma. Medium body with thin texture. Medium sweet flavor with medium sweet finish of short duration. Below average brew. Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates May 30, 2007 Bottle: Orange-laden amber with a thin pock-marked head. Moderately spicy and hoppy nose. That spiciness really rears its head in the quaff ... almost peppery, the body below decently represented. The more I drink , the more I’m amazed by how the bittering agent manifests itself along a chile-pepper line. Much better than the other two Moe’s, and not a bad offering from City Brewery.
