A dark American stout that has it all. Four malts, roasted barley and flaked oats--thatís just the beginning! Then we drop in the rich Belgian chocolate and cold-brewed locally roasted coffee. The resulting beer is rich, dark, and aromatic, perfect for any time of year. Itís one of our house favorites!

Call something a chocolate java stout, and Iím hooked. This pours a jet black with a brown foam head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and roast. Flavor is sweet and bitter chocolate, coffee, and roast. Has a full body. Very good.

Taste: Bold dark malt backbone, Belgian chocolate notes, dry coffee bean bitterness, complex. Mostly opaque Black/Brown color. Bakers cocoa and malt nose. Full body. Tall dark tan head with nice ringed lattice of lace. A robust coffee stout for an after meal. 43 IBUs

From notes. Finally getting around to adding beers from the MBG Fall Beer Fest. Enjoyed on October 24. Advertised as íChocola Java Stoutí. The pour is a very dark brown, almost black, with a small khaki head and some decent lacing. The roast is there pretty heavily on the malt, but the coffee comes through about half way through, and then gets into a great cocoa and milk chocolate flavor. The flavor is much of the same. Lots of coffee and chocolate. Maybe a little pine and slight hop on the back end. The mouth feel is decently thick and creamy, but itís a little over carbonated. I like the creaminess, but itís a little over done. Aftertaste is roasty, coffee and good

Tap at 2014 Fall MGB Fest. Thick black pour with a small creamy head. Aroma is a great mix of fresh espresso and chocolate fudge. Tastes like dark roasted coffee, chocolate, and light licorice. Thick body and a nice creamy mouthfeel. Great beer.

Black with creamy tan head. Coffee and expresso notes with slight choclate and cocoa nibs (cool word ). Tasty beer. Had this on draft as part of a flight at Tapistry brewing taproom.

Crown Beer Fest 2014 (Listed as Chocola Java Stout): Deep brown, near opaque, small head. Nice roasted overtone from malt and coffee, some milk chocolate and oat bread. Interesting faint spruce like resiny pine undertone. I would like to give it a go in a larger serving sample.

Impressive brew. Flavors of burnt dark chocolate, milk, toasted oats and roasted coffee. Hints of vanilla, dark fruit and caramel. Great feel and alcohol is well masked.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2014 A decent sweet stout. Lots of java/chocolate flavor (almost too much). More of a bitter finish.
