A modern classic Best Bitter. Crafted and inspired by Sheffield’s historic Bitter brewing tradition. Maris Otter malt has been lavished with British Goldings and a late twist of Polish Marynka hop to produce a perfectly balanced session Best Bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Brewery, 1/12/2014. Amber with a lazy, off-white, head. Well balanced bitter with a touch of sweet fruitiness, crisp malts and decent, bitter, finish. Good.

12th Sep 2014: Euston Tap, cask half-pint. Clear amber with a lightly tanned head. Mildly malty lead in both the aroma and taste, but not a great amount of anything really aroma wise. The light tasting beer was in good condition and calmed me down after some heavier brews: I needed a 3.5% ABV bevvy at the time. So a fine slightly sweet malty beer that I enjoyed without it exciting any of my senses.

Brewed in Sheffield. Half pint, hand pulled cask ale at York Tap. Low beige head blanketing the upper part of the glass. Clear copper coloured body. Smell of leafy hops and brown malts. Chocolate malty flavour balanced by hop fruity notes. Nice bitter round off, some roastiness to it. Not diluted at all. A well-made, flavoursome ale. (York 10.07.2014).

Cask at The York Tap. Yep, it’s a bitter. Your standard brown quaffing booze. Biscuit, fruit, slightly nutty. Not bad, not noticeable really. Didn’t leave an impression.

Cask at the euston tap. Chestnut copper colour. Thin white head. Aroma is twigs and nutty. Thin metallic palate. Flavour is rusty penny, crisp. Nothing overly wrong with this, but a bit disappointing.

Euston Tap. Cask. Almost clear dark amber beer, little pale tan head. Palate is light and dry with very modest carbonation. Light malt, slightly nutty. Mild minerals. Not picking up much bitterness but then all the Tapped beers have been a little sweet (no bad thing). Dry finish.

Cask at the Euston Tap, 12/06/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is malt forward, grass, light smoke, hint of caramel. Taste comprises malts, light hoppage, orange, biscuit, trace of grapefruit. Light to medium in body, moderate carbonation, subtle bitter tones in the finish. An OK bitter.

Cask @ The Sheffield Tap. The pour’s deep amber with a creamy white head. The aroma’s brown toast, a bit of nut bar, light caramel and toffee. Some red fruits, jam. Pretty straightforward on the nose. The taste is is soft caramel candy. Werther’s Original. A bit of shaggy tobacco leaf. Woody hop bitterness on the finish. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, a solid no frills bitter. Decent.
