COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biere de Garde mean "beer to keep or to store." It is a farmhouse ale from French Flanders in the northeast and was brewed in the spring and consumed throughout the summer. Medium- to full-bodied, amber in color, a bit earthy, a touch acidic, and very drinkable.

On tap at the brewery. Pours orangy/gold with a small off white head. The aroma is full with caramel and sweet fruity hard candy. The flavor is very sweet with caramel and some fruit. The body is full and slightly oily. Nice maltyness in the finish. I’m not a fan of the style, but this was one of the better ones I’ve tried. Nice effort.

On tap at the Bruery Provisions. Pours with a clear orange to gold body with a just off-white head. Aromas of orange, grainy, bready, earthy, slight hints of marmalade. Flavors are bready, grassy, grainy, caramel and a hint of diacetyl. Slightly slick on the mouthfeel. With medium bubbles and a slight bitterness in the finish.

Draft. A light amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with a solid malt base, that makes it almost chewy and notes of caramel as well as a touch of alcohol.

Tap at Stone Bistro. Pours dark copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is mildly funky/carbolic - but so mild it might be wishful smelling. Med. body - creamy carb. Flavor is definitely more malty than anything else. There’s a little yeast; there’s a little barnyard. But it’s primarily bready/malty. Still it washed down the duck taco and habanero salsa something proper.

Draft. Reddish amber pour, off-white head. Caramel, sweet malt, lightly bready, very ripe fruit, and yeast. Decent beer.

pours a nice copper color. very tart and fruity initially. Belgian influence is there but mild. not intrusive. carbonation really drives the flavor but it doesn’t linger as much as I would like.

A: The pour is amber/copper in color with a thin ring of white foam. S: The nose is somewhat on the light side with some sweet caramel and bready malts. There’s also a nice toast bready aroma to it. T: The beer is caramelly and sweet with that usual bready malt flavor. Some light baking spices, like cinnamon, as well. Unfortunately, there’s a very noticeable alcohol presence. M: The body is on the full side with a moderate level of carbonation and a bit of warmth. D: I liked some of the flavors and aromas in the beer, but it was unfortunately, the alcohol presence ruined the experience for me.
