Originally rated July 2006. This Ontario wine region lager pours a beautiful slight hazy golden-peach colour with a white frothy head. Long lasting, but does not leave any lacing. Aromas of bread with some mild hop and light sourness in the background. Good decent active carbonation and a slick mouthfeel. Nice clean bitterness throughout with some grain malts that are pretty delicious. Reminds me a lot of Heritage Premium Lager, and that one is still at the top of my list.

On tap at Taps, bright yellow gold color, with a tiny white ring of head, honeyed, toasted, pale malt, fruity ripe apple nose with a mild floral hop, candied lemon peel note, within a faint grassy note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a crisp toasted, pale, biscuity, grainy malt character with a nice lemony earthy flowery hop note, from the cascade hop used, leading towards a fruity ripe apple, hint of spiciness, lingering floral hop citrusy bitterness finish.

Cooked veggies, light sweetness, almost no hops to speak of. Hint of lemon swetness in the finish. Meh, not very good.

On tap at Taps on Queens in Niagara Falls.Pours a clear yellow with a thin white head. Light citrus note, bit of grain, touch of caramel. Thin but helped by ample carbonation. Light grain and a touch of sweetness. Huge grainy finish with a touch of bitterness. Better than their other lager, but mostly because it actually has a flavor.

[2448-20090814] Sample. Mild nothing aroma maybe has a little straw yeast. Clear, yellow brown body with a quick foamy white head. Grainy straw flavour doesn’t have much to hold it together but a bit of sweetness. Light body. Not to my taste but it’s a fair beer.

Golden-orange in colour, thin off-white coloured head, light lacing. The aroma is floral, lemon citrus, turning a bit sour. The flavour is of sour citrus, light sweetness comes and goes. Sour mouthfeel, light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes watery, more sourness.

Another brewery with infection problems.

355ml bottle that I had to buy a 6-pack to get. Clear bottle? What? Floaters? What? No way. Pours into my lager glass as purely head at first? WHAT? Oh come on! Aromas of HOPS, frightening memories of brooklyn lager start coming back. First try, must have been a bad bottle, it tasted sour and infected. I’ll try another. AHHHH! Same thing! Sickening plastic flavour with an even more sickening sweet and sour bite/aftertaste! This is on the level of Trafalgar’s infected crap! WHAT THE HELL DID THEY MAKE THIS OUT OF!??!?! I’M SO ANGRY! I’m a starving student! I can’t just blow my money away like this! Y’Aaaaarrg! Why is this even listed as a dortmunder/helles!??!?! Gimme my 11.50 back you crooks! AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGG!!

355ml clear bottle. Pours very hazy gold. Faint white head. Aroma is sweet, a lot of fruitiness, a touch of honey. Flavour was both floral and fruity, lemony hop cuts through the malt. Malts are a bit bready/toasty. Aftertaste is citrusy and grassy. Interesting.
