Commercial Description:
Our newest product, Taps Red Cream Ale is beginning to rival our Premium Lager in popularity with our customers. It is a delicious, full-bodies ale with a clear, beautiful red colour. Cream ale is made by using ale yeast fermented and conditioned at colder temperatures. The colder temperature causes a slower, more gradual fermentation, resulting in a smoother flavour. Our Red Cream Ale has a full-bodies silky texture that is crisp and strong in flavour, with a fresh, clean finish.

Surprisingly good. Poured copper red with good head. Aromas of carmel and malted hops. Initial taste is a bit yeasty but gives way to a slight fruit (apple?) and bitter hop finish. I will keep an eye out for this in the future.

Can, 473 ml, purchased at the LCBO, savoured on July 14 2008; eye: caramel, lightly hazy, light effervescence, voluminous beige head that falls rather rapidly, a bit of lacing; nose: nice hops mixed with caramel syrup, lots of grapefruit, lime; mouth: watery, a bit of lime, a bit of caramel syrup, finale in citrus-caramel; overall: once is enough FRANÇAIS Canette, 473 ml, achetée à la LCBO, savourée le 14 juillet 2008; œil : caramel, légèrement voilée, légère effervescence, mousse beige abondante qui tombe plutôt rapidement, un peu de dentelle; nez : bon houblon mêlée avec un sirop de caramel, beaucoup de pamplemousse, lime; bouche : aqueux, un peu de lime, un peu de sirop de caramel, finale en citron-caramel; en résumé : une fois c’est suffisant

draft- not as bad as I thought it would be. Creamyness not there. Nice estery profile, with a robust bitterness. Cream ale- certainly not, but a decent drinker at a place with little options.

Orange/bronze in colour, very small white coloured head, very patchy light lacing. The aroma is very appley, quite sweet, some sourness. The flavour is fruity, lightly floral, some grains, high sweetness. Sweet mouthfeel, light body, medium/light carbonation. Fiishes sweet, lingering, late dryness.

Words can’t describe how boring this beer is.

473ml can from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.

I tried this beer on May 9, 2008 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet. The beer poured a beautiful translucent rusty red colour with some effervescence leading to a short-lived whitish head. The aroma was sweet malt, some fruit tones (I’m thinking plums), and a little hoppiness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, amply carbonated, and a little sour on the tongue. The flavour is no where near as fruity as the aroma. There is some sweet maltiness, some sourness in the middle, and slightly bitter finish. This beer suited my tastes quite well.

(Rating #1356)
