3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by Keir back at the Presidential Suite at the Omni after the RBSG-STL Grand Tasting, 2014. Must be this vintage because it’s what Chris rated and his notes were more thorough than mine, particularly at this time of night. Pours a deep brown with no head. Notes of molasses, chocolate, roasted malts, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, a little spice. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation. Rich, pretty good. The other variants I’ve had fresh indicate that this was once better. They make a good barrel aged imperial stout.

P: Black with a one finger brown head. S: Fudge with a heavy dose of bourbon, lingering oak, cacao, molasses and a hint of vanilla. T: Chocolate, nuts, oak, bourbon , leather and a kick of alcohol towards the end. M: Medium body, silky with a low level of carbonation. O: Nothing that would put this one apart from other BA stouts but nice nonetheless.

Had on tap I their south corona place. This is the most phenomenal brew ever. Is it the barrel the oak or the caramel richeness. I can not put this in words. A vinious rich malt bomb with a wine characteristic. Great heat just pure greatness

What an incredible beer! Dark black body with a medium head, the aroma is coconut, vanilla, roasted malt and dark chocolate. The taste and aftertaste are also so amazing with a lot of coconut, dark chocolate and the aged bourbon notes... alcohol very present but smooth for the high abv. Very highly recommended IRS!
