COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Remy is a travel buddy whose life, at times, has rivaled that of the world’s most interesting men--free-spirited, adventurous, and with a penchant for fast women, whiskey, and beer: the perfect inspiration for something truly special. For Remy’s Pappy, we filled barrels from an exceptional bourbon distillery with our award-winning Imperial Russian Stout and let them sleep for many months. The transformation results in a beer similar to our original Remy: rich and roasty, with incredible flavors of marshmallow, coconut, and dark fruit, with additional layers of chocolate ganache and rare whiskey goodness. Enjoy!

Made specially for El Cerrito Market (Corona, CA).

gEUS (1503) - Linden, BELGIUM - JUL 30, 2015
bottle shared at a tasting. While the aromas are rich in oak and vanilla, the mouthfeel and taste are more overwhelming in alcohol. Sometimes, the pappy is overestimated (and maker’s mark underestimated - just my opinion)

Big brown pour, brown head. Rich and full of flavor! Loads of bourbon, but not over the top. Chocolate, vanilla, light toasted malt, prunes, molasses. Delicious.

Bottle shared at RBSG. Thanks! A: Pitch black, cappuccino head. N: Brandy, bourbon, cherries, toffee, vanilla, caramel, cocoa, coffee, a touch of soy and some black licorice. T: Very sweet - not cloying. The barrel is integrated very well. M: Oily heavy body, touch of alcohol burn. O: Solid IRS. I really like the way they let the barrel accent the stout while maintaining its own idiom. Would have again, for sure

Bottle. Pours a jet black color with a medium white head. A big, no massive bourbon nose. The flavor is a showcase for Pappy, smooth vanilla, some wood, sugary, no heat. This is damn smooth. Roast, cocoa, some raisin. More awesome Pappy.

750mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out smoky whiskey notes, roasted malt and wood - super complex. Flavour follows accordingly, with licorice, chocolate and complex smoky bourbon notes. Super complex and well-balanced, finishing sweet, chocolate and smoky. Excellent.

Bottle at RB summer gathering in Portland. Colour...very dark brown with a thin head. Nose...turbinado sugar, burnt marshmallows, oak staves and Bourbony goodness. Palate...lighter bodied than I thought it would be, but great flavours of Bourbon soaked oak, vanillin, brown sugar syrup and tannins. The finish is long and somewhat hot.
