COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prepare to be round-housed in the taste buds. This is a North American style India Pale Ale. It has an intense North West Pacific-hop character from a ridiculous amount of hops added to the brew-kettle, and then dry-hopped later on during conditioning. Citrusy, floral, and fruity flavours take front stage, while the caramel accented malts give it some balance.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy light orange with a thin white head. Aroma of tangy citrus hops, bitter hops, floral hops, and caramel malt. Flavor of spicy hops up front with bitterness in the finish, grassy hops, and a touch of citrus. Very tasty hoppy IPA! 7/4/8/4/15 [3.8/5]

Growler from the brewpub, shared with Steve and Mike, served cool in a tulip glass. 29AL12.

App.: Slightly hazy amber with a decent light tan head. Aroma: Quite British, earthy, a little floral, pine/resin, stern caramel/toffee malts, a touch fruity. Palate: Medium body, very relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Esters (bubble gum), earthy, British, decent hops- pine, resin, etc., brown sugar, maple, light raisins/dark dried fruits; dry with decent bitterness and a British malt finish.

A decent British-style IPA. Not that sinister or insane.

On tap at Taps. Hazy dark orange pour, thick cream head. Strong aromas of grapefruit, pine, caramel, slightly floral. Very smooth. Solid dose of citrus, but the thing I find interesting about it was the creamy texture. Not as "Insane" as I expected but nice balance and well hidden booze. Solid.

341ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a murky dark amber with a creamy off-white head.. Wonderful lacing. Respectable head retention.Aroma of hops, pine citrus, and malt. Flavour is bitter with hops, grapefruit, minimal sweetness. Astringent. Pretty decent Canadian IPA.

Growler from brewpub in Niagara. Pretty significant hop base up front. Some very mild malt balance in the middle and the typical hop bitterness in the end. Pretty solid beer.

Draught at Burger Bar. Pours a clear, deep copper with a small diminishing frothy white head. Mild but pleasant resiny hop aroma along with a hint of sweetness, some grain and sweet malt. Flavour of resiny hops, mostly in the finish (as is often the case in Ontario). Decent bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Didnít knock my socks off but good enough that Iíd drink it again.

On tap at Niagaraís best. Light brown with light head that retains. I would have liked to see more hops come through this one but still a nice balanced beer.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2011 3rd annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge tasted blind. Deep orange brown. Hazy pour with a lot of suspended particles. Resiny flavour with a lot of minerally flavour and a lot of orange peel. Bitter but fairly clean. 7 3 7 3 14 Deep amber pour. The aroma is incredibly odd. Sort of savoury with a bit of an herbal hoppiness. A little bit of maple character and brown sugar. There is a bit of softness and sweetness. The hoppiness is pretty intense though. Assertive and bitter. Decent. 7 3 7 3 14
