3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Wine & Wallop, Didsbury. Cloudy yellow shade. Thin white head that disappears. Slightly sweet taste, has a citrus peel-like fruitiness. Has been spiced quite well too; it’s not overdone and seems quite authentically Belgian. Soft, slightly oily mouthfeel. Not bad, just feels a bit muddled at times.

Bottle at the grapes, Liverpool
Hazy pale blonde with corriander and dank hops on the nose. Lacing white head. Medium carbonation and body, orange peel first then spicy corriander. Longish finish with more citrus. Not enough wheat but otherwise enjoyahle

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Bottle. I hope I have had a bad one....
Nose is of copper and musty wardrobes. Colour is a weak yellow, slightly cloudy no head. Taste is appalling, a slight hint of marzipan, and a touch of pepper, the finish is chlorine and water (have I just drank a swimming pool?!). It tasted more like a commercial pilsner than a wheat beer. Mouthfeel is water.
Overall: I love wheat beer, especially Belgians. This tastes like no other wheat beer, I’ve ever tried, the brewer seems to have tried to make a wheaty larger, and has made a mess. Utterly dreadful on every level, comfortably the worst wheat beer, I have ever had and one of the worse beers. Ended up down the sink.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very pale witbier, cloudy with a refreshing mouthfeel. Taste was of wheat and botanicals. I’d have this again

Cask Handpump at the Pied Bull, Chester 29/04/2011
Fruit and some spiced aromas. Light golden coloured and a little hazy in appearance with fruity citrus and lemongrass flavours. A hint of dryness in a slightly creamy malt finish.
