„Tauro Porteris“ – vienintelis porteris Lietuvoje gaminamas iš 5 salyklų: šviesiojo, Miuncheno, karamelinio, šokoladinio ir juodojo. Skirtingų rūšių salyklai šiam alui suteikia tirštą juodą spalvą, rusvą tvirtą putą ir sodrų salsvą skonį, kuris ilgainiui pereina į kavos ir deginto salyklo kartumą. Tai tikras vyriškas porteris.

Black with a tan head. This is a respectable porter, not much for the nose, only slight citric-melon sweetness. Mainly roasted malts for the tongue, some coffee, oily and an ashy note developes at the back of the throat. For the most part this feel’s corpulent and yet does not let me forget it’s watery side.

Coffee roastiness with a very pleasant Munich-like maltiness. A little bit of caramel. Good strong bitterness.

50 cl bottle @ HBF’13. BBE 25.03.2014.
Pours dark ruby red color with a small off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel, some bready malts, vegetable notes and hay. Flavor of dry malts, chocolate and cocoa notes, pepper and bread. Dry malty and spicy palate. Not as bad as I expected.

esanssinen, suklaalta tuoksuva, laimean makuinen porter. Aika heikko esitys porteriksi.

500 ml bottle @ HeBF. Pours a dark brown colour with a ruby hue. Aroma of sweet malts, alcohol, bread, raisins and sugar. Flavour of bready malts, licorice, pepper, grass, sugary notes and nuts. Medium bodied, oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes dry and malty. Surprisingly good.

50 cl bottle @ HeBF’13, BBE 25.03.2014
Aroma has cocoa, some woody notes, malt and hints of alcohol. Flavour has soy sauce, some salty licorice, hay and distant woody notes. Also hints of vanilla ice cream. Feels a bit artifical with essence aromas. Quite typical east European porter.

500ml bottle (Maxima, Vilnius) (6:5:6+:4:13+=3.4++)
Basically black, with a few ruby glints. Huge tight rocky cappucino head that you can literally eat with a spoon - and it’s yummy and very burnt (I ate it with my finger - sue me!). Aroma’s a little sweet, but very roasty and toasty, just a bit burnt. Lovely and full and smooth in the palate, soft carbonation. Super rich roast, gently burnt, no astringency at all. Smooth and sweet, just shy of sticky. Finish is a pleasant, fairly soft roast mainly. Not hugely complex, but eminently drinkable.

500ml bottle. Very dark brown color. Medium size, thick brown head, stays. Caramel, roasted malts, coffee beans, cocoa in aroma. Roasted malts, coffee, slightly buttery flavor. Bit watery and very easy to drink. I would have expected more depth, but that will do just fine.
