2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
as happy as I was with the taybeh regular, I wasnít quite as pleased with the dark version. Now that I see it is a bock, it makes much more sense. Itís not bad for a bock, but I was expecting more of a Negra Modelo feel and it was basically a dark watery carbonated beverage.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
A medium brown color like a cola with a few ice cubes melted in it. Foamy beige head. Sweet malty nose with an odd herbal quality, dusty. Same unusual dirt & herb flavor, sweeter in the middle with a lingering bitter follow. Juniper, that might be the taste Iím getting or a touch of Rosemary....their Golden had some strange flavors going on too. That one was a bit better IMO. An interesting take on a Bock but not one I enjoy.

well water, herbal/grassy, sweet/slightly cola; looks dark, and i bet would be better if it tasted dark... meh; decent, i suppose.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by Cuso. Aroma brett, fruity. Very dark colour. Taste is not unlike sour beers, fruits. As a sour spontaneously fermented beer this could pass pretty well. I rate it as such.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle at the GJBF Osaka. More of an amber than a dark color, though maybe a smidge darker than their amber. The flavor has the same kind of skunkiness to it as the amber I had though not as strong. I think they are using some smoke malts. It is quite bitter, not so well done. Their golden is their best but even that is average.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Wow, a Palestinian beer! Bottle straight from the fridge of my diplomat friend in Jerusalem while I was on holiday. Pours a dark brown with large off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, somewhat sweet, hints of anise. Flavor of smoky malts and light caramel. Definite ash as the reviewer before me notes.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Wow, Iíve never been Rater Zero before. This is a darkish brown with a generous, off-white head thatís slightly rocky and lasting. The hops nose seems to disappear with the head, however, leaving an over-malted brew with artificial grape notes, suggestive of Upper Canada Dark. Very short, uncomplicated finish with little quality hop presence. Itís palatable, and there was clearly some effort here, but overall not up to par.
