Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 On tap at Taylor Brewing. Poured clear, bright golden with a sticky cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweeter light fruits and caramel with a “red ale” feel to it.. pleasant enough, but too sweet. The flavor found sweeter fruity and caramel notes again with a sticky, not-too-pleasant warm vegetal finish.. aftertaste of artificial sweetener. Dry and lighter-bodied on the palate, again with an artificially-sweetened, tacky finish.. not very good. frankenkitty (1789), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Oct 10, 2006 (This "Light Ale" was verified as a "Pale Lager"... awesome!) Skinny white head over pale golden body with light carbonation. Gentle aroma of hops over pale malt. Adjunct-free flavor finds mild sweetness before a healthy hit of German hops to finish. Finally.... finally!... a beer brewed on premise in Lombard where they got it right! This is a freakin’ Pale Lager and I enjoyed two pints at the bar before bringing home a growler. This would make a fine, refreshing everyday Pils.

Cornfield (4255), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Sep 8, 2004 Updated: Jul 18, 2005Definitely beats out the major brewery pale lagers, but doesn’t offer much more than being "acceptable." Drinkable, but offers little more than that. Taylor Brewing’s weakest offering.

jaymobrown (1293), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 2, 2003 Light colorish. Bitter, thin nose. Some caramel notes but mostly bland and uneventful. JoeM500 (1877), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2003 Clear tan color with thin white head around the rim. Malt is light and caramelly and finishes with some grassy hops. Decent enough to beat out the macros but can't contend with even the mediocre selections of "real beer" on tap at this dining spot.
