2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2015 At the Lombard brewpub. I was surprised by this one. It was on the sweet side. More Heineken than crisp like other pilsners but it kind of worked. Serving: Tap

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
On tap at Taylor Brewing. Poured clear, not-much-more-than-watery golden with rising carbonation and zero head. The aroma picked up very soft grainy and bready notes with light lemon zest and hay.. OK, but very weak. The flavor had just a touch more substance than the nose.. grassy notes over a honey and sweet bready core.. the back found dry lemon zest.. not much going on. Watery, dry, and grainy on the palate with a short finish.. unsubstantial.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
Actually has an aroma which is not something many of Taylor’s beers have. Sweet banana aroma; candied like those you’ll find in Brazil. Very slightly hazy light gold with a white, frothy head and some lace. Very light flavor, with none of the candied banana coming through at all. Perhaps as good as or sligthly better than the average brewpub pils, but basically devoid of flavor.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught during my Great Lakes region brew tour. After browsing the menu and seeing nothing at all that grabs my attention, I make some illogical decision to order, consume, then pay money for this. Pours yellow with a large white head. The faint aroma is malty with corn husk and paper notes. A little hoppiness comes out in the mouth which is mostly just flat and predictable. I think I detect some mulch flavor. Pretty lame brew.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Contract brewed by Capital Brewery, Middleton, WI
Medium-golden and headless with a fairly flat body. Weak aroma was herbal bitter. Flavor was crisp and true to style, finishing on a nice, bitter note. Aftertaste lasted and was pleasant. One of the better beers here.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Another Taylor without much of an aroma (or have I just blown out my olfacotory sense on IPAs and Stouts?). Unlike most Pils, no aftertaste, very mild. Clear golden color.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had this one on draught in Lombard, Illinois. Perhaps the best pils I’ve had, which isn’t saying a lot, but this still wasn’t too bad. Medium yellow and clear appearance, hoppy nose, clean finish, very similar taste to a pale ale.

I enjoyed this one. not a bad choice if looking for something on the lighter side. i liked this better than their golden ale.
