Drnk_McDermott (1565), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pint. Menu says it’s from "Taylor Brewing, Middleton, WI." In other words, Capital. Well, it’s okay. Reddish color, more like a store-brand cola, with thin foam. Smell shows a bit of cherry cola, which could fit the style. I enjoy the taste, I admit: that cherry cola, plus some red wine and even a trace of chocolate. Certainly some darker malts at work here. Very light hops, just enough to balance what would be a very sweet beer. A bit of alcohol hotness and a dry finish. I’m thinking it have had an ale temperature ferment. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 On tap at Taylor Brewing. Poured thick dark amber with a full head. Malty nose, sweet, smoky malts on palatte. Ughsmash (3085), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 On tap at Taylor Brewing. Poured translucent coppery-amber with a sticky cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweeter dark fruit and caramel notes with just a hint of spicy accent.. mostly sweet and quite nice. The flavor had deeper caramel notes with what felt like whiskey malt.. picked up a little smoke with warmth.. drier and sticky on the back with some fruit, caramel, and herbs.. tasty. Medium-bodied with high carbonation on the palate.. dry at the back.. OK balance.
