Bottle poured into shaker. Strong and sharp cascade aroma with a little butter. A slight tinge of bitterness in the front with a more pronounced rye breadiness in the finish. Mouthfeel is very chewy Thanks, kujo9!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Brewkettle. The aroma is of sweet citrius and pine bitter hops. The beer is a copper color. The taste was more aggressive than I anticipated featuring a nice hoppy bite with citrius and pine flavor. The finish is dry and long with a good amout of Hop bitterness. I liked this one a lot!

Why is it that none of the "new" sessionable ales that I encounter is available in my area? This one has a great pour, shiny new penny copper body with a tall, dense, good-lacing pale ecru head. Nice hoppy aroma here, tart tangeines and citrus zest with a splash of grapefruit juice. A light sweet malt emerges, too, as it does in the flavor; but the refreshing hoppy bitterness carries this ale. Well balanced and quite tasty, I’m a bit P.O.ed at my friend for teasing me with a bottle of this brew.

On tap. Delightful. Clean hop flavors swirl in this nicely balanced beer. This one was just a great drinking beer.

A nice looking pour... sparkling effervescence glints within an orange/amber body under a fluffy, yellowhite head that holds and leaves a thick, frothy lace. Quite the cccconcentration of hops in the aroma providing an IPA-quality nose. Orange zest and bell pepper with a light dishrag distraction and low (English?) malts in support. Soft and dry, the dominant bitterness to the flavor is more peppery than citric and while I really enjoy it, I feel that a touch of sweetness might be a welcome addition. Very good though!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ brewkettle: Copper color, off white head. Aroma was very earthy, with some citrus. Flavor, almost all hops to start, some caramel, very earthy on the hops I thought. I thought the finish was a bit mettalic. Good start to the day.

On tap at the brewkettle - Pours amber and pretty transparent with a short white head and a fair amount of lace. Big hoppy aroma of orange and a little grapefruit. Flavor is lots of orange, some caramel, and a bitter finish.. Seemed to lean a little too heavily toward those cascade hops.. Not bad though...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Brew Kettle 9/12/06. Clear amber, big white head, nice lace. Hoppy aroma of spice and citrus. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body, light carbonation, and a resinous character. Caramel sweetness is quickly overcome by a decidedly bitter quality that contrubutes to a lengthy dry finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the brewpub: Barley’s has a beer with the same theme and name so I was intrigued to compare and contrast. Barley’s is an Imperial though, and either way this brew isn’t quite on the same level. The beer is clear amber with a thin light beige head. Spotty lacing. The aroma is floral hops and caramel. Medium-bodied with a fair amount of hops flavor, along with some sweet malt and spice underneath. The finish is hoppy and lingering. Decent but not great.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Brew Kettle. Poured clear amber with a ring and a dusting of white head. Nose was of juicy grapefruit, pine-laced caramel, pears, and some floral... Cascade stole the show. Sticky caramel, pears, grapefruit, and veggie/floral hoppage across the middle... pine bitterness at the finish. The sticky, almost vegetal undertow just didn’t feel right. OK overall.
