3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from SS: pours beautiful clear amber gold with a large off white standing head and great lacing. Aroma is full of hops that are both citrus and pine, some good sweet malts behind the hops. Very nice. Flavor is a ton of hop bitterness that clings to the tongue. Good piney hop flavor and the malt swewtness creeps in at the end.

light, hoppy, smells yeasty. A very enjoyable drink. It had a light sweetness that kept on rolling.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Pours an orangish gold with a little bit of a head and aromas of pine, mango and apple juice. Flavor has a lot of malt (apple and caramel) sweetness up front that then gives way to an herbal/medicinal pine finish. Alcohol is obvious and warming. Merry Christmas!

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Iíve visited Brew Kettle numerous time (my mother-in-law lives nearby) and always enjoyed their beers and my visits. And I bought this one in Columbus at Blacklick Liquors, with high expectations. It was a new item to Blacklick (I visit there regularly), and given this and the proximity of Columbus to Strongsville, I assumed this was a guarantee of freshness (although with no date code I have no way of knowing). And I believe I was mistaken - my experience with this beer stands in stark contrast to the other reviews on this site. This beer was not what I was expecting, and i would describe it as rancid. A dark gold/amber color with nice head and a clear body (so far so good). However, aroma was cereal-y, grainy, diacetyl, and a touch spicy, but not at all hoppy. Flavor was far worse. I got no hop presence off this beer in the taste at all. It tasted awful, and for me it was a drain-pour. I will happily revisit Brew Kettle, but Iíd be hesitant to pick-up other bottled products of theirs based on this experience.

Great color, had a huge hop flavor. Very bitter finish. The hops are a bit grassy or pine flavored. It has a good balance of alcohol.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 ounce bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a dark amber/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention is average, but thereís a good amount of lacing. The aroma is mostly hops, both citrusy and pine. Thereís also some caramel malt noticable. The taste is the same as the aroma, itís mostly citrusy and pine hops and some caramel malt in there too. Also has a good lingering bitter hoppy finish, and the taste isnít harsh at all. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís a bit slick and creamy with moderate carbonation. Drinkability is great, itís smooth and extremely easy to drink. I think this is a pretty good overall brew, itís one of the better Imperial IPAís Iíve had in a while. Iíll definitely buy this again soon!
