3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smooth and bitter. The hops are well balanced with the malt. The 9% makes it a slow drinker.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle with Paul. Pours a clear golden body with thick white head and lacing. Aroma is soapy, fresh grassy hops and clean pale malt. Mouthfeel is thin, clean and soft with more malt character coming through than preferred, but still nice.

"citrus, tropical and grapefruit hops in the nose and flavor. a little too much biscuit malt (no date on the bottle so canít tell the age) prevents this from receiving a really high score. still very nice and an easy drinking iipa. thanks ggrumet!"

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle received in trade from a non-RB member. Lovely medium amber pour leading up to a tremendous off-white head. The aroma is nicely hopped and full of toasted biscuit characteristics. Superior balance and inviting. The body is medium to full and smooth. Malt characters begin the consumption experience but then like a funnel the earthy, bitter hops trickle in and then abound.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks JBruner for Local trade.
Appearance was clear deep gold with diminishing creamy white 1 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are orange, pine, soft lemon and grapefruit with slight sweet malts and alcohol. Taste are orange blast out the gate with pine, lemon, soft sweet malt, then some warming at finish. Palate are smooth creamy CO2 with medium-full body, then lasting oily slick fruity, piney finish. A wonderful DIPA, but touch to much pine for me.

12oz bottle from Giant Eagle Market in UA. Orange pour with white head. Aroma is sweet fruit and piney wood. Tastes are toasty, toffee, floral, tea, pine, resin citrus. Well balanced. Leaves a bitter grapefruit aftertaste. Would think this needs to be as fresh as possible. It was - and was very nice. 7.6

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A good example of an ever-expanding segment of American ales, this Imperial IPA uses a complex and flavorful hop (simcoe) and puts it on a pedestal. You get varying degrees of citrus, grapefruit, and tart green apple, complemented by toast and caramel from the malts, and the implied imperial levels of alcohol. I just wish for a touch more malt sweetness to balance out both the mouthfeel and flavor profile. Simcoe is a great, but left unchecked, it can overpower a beer. A good beer with a great hop, definitely drinkable, and hop aficionados will love it.

12 oz. bottle from my Secret Santa, umich03jm. Thanks man! Pours a hazed orang color with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, mild herbal and fruity notes. Mild gum ball sweetness. Some mild lemon and earthy notes. Flavor is medium bitterness, high hop flavor, fruity and candy sweetness. Medium bodied with average carbonation, finishes fruity with a touch of bitterness. Very nice, well done.
