Summer Soulstice Belgian-Style Wit Bier

Our take on a Belgian style unfiltered wheat ale brewed with raw wheat and flaked oats and spiced with coriander and orange & lemon peel.

12oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Labeled 5.3%, 15 IBU. Hazy pale yellow color. Totally hazy. Thin white head. Short ropes of lace. Good yeast profile. Nice lemony tart taste, and moderate sweet. Good orange peel zest, light spice. Medium body, with a kind of full texture. Lightly spicy, lightly slick. Light carbonation. Solid, tasty witbier. I like it. The more pronounced wit yeast may turn some off, though. Not the smoothest, most refreshing, easy drinking wit, but very flavorful, and tasty. Gets better after time.

Yellow color with a thin white head. Big spicy nose with coriander and orange citrus notes. This is a very nice Witbier with lots of coriander, lemon, orange, tangerine and doughy yeast. I hope I can find more of this beer yet this summer.

Bottle from Save On. Very pale hazy straw/beige (or something) with lasting white head and lace. Heavy coriander in aroma with some wheat tang and some clove. Very subdued fruity sweetness with grassy notes and very dry clean finish. Very refreshing and quaffable, like a wit is supposed to be. Excellent.

On tap at TBK. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Aroma of coriander. Taste has the typical Belgian tang.

Pours lighter in color and less cloudy than expected. Aroma is enticing with sweet orange and coriander. Flavor is spot on. The wheat malt is there, but the orange and coriander come through just fine. Light, crisp, refreshing, good balance. Very nice Wit.

Bottle @ home via trade with barak316. Thanks for yet another wheat tick, Bill. Pours a milky light yellow appearance with a small white head. Big spicy coriander, spicy yeasty, lemon zesty aroma. Refreshing light bodied, juicy citrusy, huge coriander flavor. A bit watery. Pretty easy to drink but overloaded with coriander and citrus peel.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 04/20/2013. The beer pours hazy yellow with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Light-bodied with flavors of lemon, wheat and pale malts. The finish is fruity and sweet. Decent overall.

Bottle courtesy of weihenweizen. Lemon-orange, wheat malt, and coriander aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with a large white head. Floral lemon, wheat malt, and spicy flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. Slightly different take on a wit, which I found to be dangerously drinkable stuff. Very nice
