Our take on a Belgian classic. This unfiltered wheat ale is brewed with flaked wheat and flaked oats and spiced with coriander, orange, and lemon peel.

Aroma: Banana, honey and cloves with hints of wet leaves. Appearance: Cloudy gold with minimal head. Taste: Medium sweetness with light bitterness and light sourness. Palate: Medium body, soft carbonation, slick creamy texture, long syrupy finish. Overall: A little too sour for my taste, but still drinkable.

bottle @ Jungle Jim’s / Eastgate OH --- Mild aroma of spice. Hazy medium amber with a head that disappears within a minute, no lace. No bubbles, a very still beer. Taste is wheat and malt that sees a short burst of hard carbonation and light spices on the swallow. Very mild bittering mixes in for a short finish. Less than I expected; I can drink it, but I wouldn’t choose it.

12 oz. bottle at Moerlein Lager House. Pours a cloudy, pale straw gold with a tiny white head that still manages to lace the glass and leave film. Aroma of wheat, bread, lemon, banana, coriander, straw, grass, white pepper, and an underlying yeasty, doughy note. Flavor of lemon, sourdough, grass, straw, coriander, oats, orange peel, and paper. Light-bodied, with modest carbonation and a clean, refreshing mouthfeel that finishes dry. Good American take on the style. Twisted it a little.

Bottle pour light gold with minimal haze. Nose tart lemon citrus mixed with grainy wheat. Also a little funk. Very light spicy ester at end of nose. Taste moderate tart citrus fruits and cinnamon clove spice up front. Mid palate light bitter then mix grain malt and sweetness. Lightly spiced finish

Tap. Pours cloudy straw, small creamy white head, nice lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, coriander. Flavor is pretty true to style, very light sweet, coriander and wheat with a bit of zest. Light body, creamy. Decent.

12oz bottle in Le Bubba Gump - nose is wheat, corn and black pepper. Sip definitely adds coriander and generic spices. Refreshing and citrusy in the aftertaste department.

Pours a lite yellow, hazy, with a small white head. Coriander in the aroma along with the bready yeast. Taste is mainly the wheat as bread with some light citrus notes. Body is light.

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs; thanks jmborggren). Looks good for the style; a mostly transparent golden wheat with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells pleasantly wheaty and spicy with a nice mild Belgian yeast presence and notes of citrus and coriander. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. A bit of soft clove too. This one was a pleasant surprise; I’m normally not big on this style, but this is a good one.
