Very nice. Pours a beautiful, clear mahogany color with off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma includes dark fruit, honey, malt, and cinnamon. Flavor is definitely sweet, but not syrupy. The ginger and nutmeg take a back seat in this one, with the honey, malt, cinnamon, and citrus peel dominating. The 8.2% ABV combined with the cinnamon delivers the "warming" you’d expect in a beer called Winter Warmer. Very, very nice.

12oz bottle, ABV listed as 8.0%. Deep ruby red color, light khaki head, good lace. Very drinkable and tasty! Texture is perfect - light smooth carbonation, some dryness. Very easy to drink in gulps if desired. Delicious light sweet taste that stands out from the spice, must be the "sleigh-load of honey". The citrus notes work great with the spices, a really great holiday ale overall. I’m very impressed. You would never guess the 8% ABV from the taste. Outstanding.

A Christmas Ale from the Brew Kettle in Strongsville Ohio. A nice spicy note on the nose, with cinnamon and citrus peel, with subtle amber and honey notes. Pours a nice brown with a thin head, goes down easy and finishes crisp and clean. Great!

A pleasant experience; this is a well accomplished winter warmer with just the right peaks and valleys of sweetness and fun holiday adjuncts. Damn thing will warm you up.

I had this on-tap at the Brew Kettle in Strongsville, and I was genuinely impressed. I’m not the biggest fan of this style, but I thought this example was true-to-style yet very approachable and drinkable. The beer poured a dark amber which was clear and sparkling and had a loose but plentiful head atop it. Aroma was of holiday spice...nutmeg, all-spice, and maybe a touch of cinammon. Flavor was also spicy, but also offered a hefty dose of maltiness that was neither overly sweet nor cereal-y. Mouthfeel was a bit thick and appropriate. I thought this beer to be quite good.

Bottle pours amber red color with off white head. Aromas are all over the place. Cinnamon is the most pronounced followed by ginger and citrus. Flavor is cinnamon spicy with ginger, and overall holiday spices. Finishes sweet. Nice brew.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours moderately hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with solid retention, that reduces to a lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of fruity yeast, malt, and spice flavors; with a good malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice winter warmer style. Good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle from a recent trade. Poured into a snifter at home...hot as balls in South Florida...95 today. Good day for a Winter beer. Aroma is heavy breads, sweet malts, orange, cinnamon, candy dark sugars, and gingerbread. Taste is similar with the bread, gingerbread, orange, sweet candy, and dark caramel malts. Booze finish with spices. Medium to full body. Tasty.

On tap @ RN, ABV not listed: Chestnut brown body w/ a lasting light beige head. Malty w/ some light ginger & cinnamon; light alcohol nose along with some honey aromas as it warms. Hints of lemony citrus hops at the very finish of the nose. Well balanced, malty w/ bready & caramel flavors; some light honey notes, medium fruitiness, apple &A verry light raisin (possible from alcohol). Semi dry finish, clean malt & lightly roasty aftertaste. Also has a lightly tart tang!! Dryer m/f, higher carbonation, lightly prickly & medium bodied. ABV was not listed, but the mouthfeel is warming so it’s there! Very good beer, but they really need to turn the CO2 down on this one. Carbonation takes away from the spicy flavors that are in the beer and a lot of the smoothness that this could have.

Bought this bottle at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark ruby brown with a good-size too dark for off-white, too light for khaki head. The aroma is heavily spiced with cinnamon, maybe nutmeg and some clove. Luckily, this is backed up by enough malt to not quite be overpowering. The spice is equally strong in the flavor, but again the malt (brown sugar and spice cake, honey) helps keep the spices in check, almost. Could benefit from some aging to mellow the spices, but still great for style.
