2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
$2 at marinos in sylvania. Pour is a darker brown. Just a plain old beery smell. Has this malty thing going on in there but not sure if I taste any of those spices so promently mentioned in the description. At first I don’t think it is 8% but as the session continues it starts to warm my belly and the alky feeling in theh mouth starts to buiild. Stronger alky taste increases as session continues. Now I think its 8%! Not sure what to think of this, its gets a little medicinal near the finish. Yes, cannot taste cinnamon, nor honey nor orange peel, just simple strong malty beer. A little over the top in personality for this lager lover.

Yeah...ho ho ho and all of that shit after the fact with all the cinnamon and ginger goodness one would expect from a holiday (not Memorial Day) beer. The booziness is hidden until the end, kinda like a Mormon escaping the compound.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours moderately hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with solid retention, that reduces to a lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange peel, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, caramel, brown sugar, toast, biscuit, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of fruity yeast, malt, and spice flavors; with a good malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice winter warmer style. Good balance and complexity of malt, spice, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
@ Jungle Jims / Eastgate - Cloudy deep caramel color with a partial head cover, light dots of lace. Malt opens things, grows a little\, adding prunes and spices, yielding to bittering late. Some alcohol apparent in the finish. Somewhat watery in texture, yet still heavy on the swallow. Very drinkable, but many better selections are out there.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear, copper-red with a small, tan head.
Malty, toffee aroma....ginger.
Taste is ginger, spices, caramel, honey.
Very nice, easy-going holiday brew.
Tasty and mild despite the high ABV.
A bit of whiskey in aroma and taste.
Very good, it does provide a bit of warmth, all right.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Filtered, deep amber-copper body. Thinnish off-white head. Smooth and malty, pretty nice Winter beer. You definitely get some fruity flavors, the ginger, cinnamon, and orange-peel being quite prominent, but they are smoothed out by the honey. Balanced, malty, clean, no off notes. Very enjoyable.

Nice dark dark amber color with no head and spotty oily lacing. Aroma is malty and spicy. Has great oktoberfest malt taste with more spices. Pretty good overall.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very nice. Pours a beautiful, clear mahogany color with off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma includes dark fruit, honey, malt, and cinnamon. Flavor is definitely sweet, but not syrupy. The ginger and nutmeg take a back seat in this one, with the honey, malt, cinnamon, and citrus peel dominating. The 8.2% ABV combined with the cinnamon delivers the "warming" you’d expect in a beer called Winter Warmer. Very, very nice.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Six pack from a Giant Eagle supermarket just outside of Cleveland. Clear medium brown brew with fizzy off white head that very quickly settles. Aroma of sweet malt, spices - clove, nutmeg, cinnamon - a bit of ethanol, a little tart fruit. Taste is sweet, moderate amount of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove; finish is dominated by spice, still sweet with a warm ethanol flourish at the end. Palate is relatively light. Nice for a spiced up holiday brew.
