Tecate is much better than corona. However with corona you need lime to make it palatable. This can survive on its own. Much better with lime though.

Better than Corona but by no means good. Think corn think a sickly yellow color. Now you have it.

Bottled. Smelled a little skunky. That's all it had going for it. No taste, flat. Looked like an Amercian standard.

Had with my enchilada plate at the local Alcapulco restaurant. Out of concern for getting a "pure" sampling, I didn't squeeze the lime into the glass. Fizzy, dark yellow and a head that disappeared almost instantly. Typical mass produced lager aroma. Slightly more flavor than Corona or Pacifico. A passable beer when eating Mexican food, but not much else. I should have squeezed the lime...

Did someone say tacos? Great with a lime in it and great with Mexican food. Kind of pricy but, oh well. Always better than a Corona.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2007 Best drank ice cold, out of the can (which does have some style), and under a hot Mexican sun if available. Clear, golden pee yellow with a short-lived sudsy white head. Stale aroma with distinct notes of adjuncts. Minimal character, but basically inoffensive smell. Flavor has some lemony tartness with light sweetness and very mild bitterness. No recognizable flavors to identify this beer with malt or hops. Clean and bland when cold, which beats Mexican water handily. Scores nostalgia points with me. This is the only beer to drink in 100 degree heat in the Sonoran bush where other beers without a shiny red aluminum shell would instantly skunk in your hand. There are worse things to be doing than wading through a Mangrove with a can of Tecate in your hand.

Color is golden pale yellow with no head from pouring, a few clearish bubbles sit around the edge. Smells very faintly of spiced sweet malt, no hop presence what so ever. Taste is more of the same, very slightly spiced sweet malt and no hop to be found. Its very clean, crisp, and lightly refreshing. Feel is a bit more medium body but lacks in roundness. Mostly watery malts. Easy drinker, but stick with Dos Equis.

Many people put this down but I prefer it over the trendy Corona and Sol. Love the tall boy 4 packs. A real summer beer.
