(Bottled; enjoyed from 10cl whisky glass at Teerenpeli in Turku) Pitch black, with a small but thick light-brown head. Looks very much like espresso! Sweet vanilla oakiness, cream sherry and heavily roasted malts in aroma. Amazingly smooth flavor of sweet vanilla, heavily roasted malts and cream sherry, with notes of bourbon and mocha. Smooth like velvet, generous body, mild carbonation. Absolutely, totally, 100% orgastic. Seriously.

Bottle, 10cl from a whiskey glass @ Teerenpeli, Helsinki. Almost black color with a small beige head. Aroma is complex, roasted malts, vanilla. Flavour is overwhelming; a blend of portvine, smoked malts, sweet caramel. Finish is warming, but alcohol nicely hidden. Absolutely the best porter I have tried, hopefully I will have a chance of trying another glass before it runs out.

0.1l from bottle @ Teerenpeli Helsinki. Oh my, what a sweet sweet beer. One of the best barrel aged beers in the sense that it is actually way better than the original.

Oh my, Teerenpeli has finally hit the right spot! Silk smooth taste, actually not that much bourbon. The whisky gives sweetness and some oak.

At Teerenpeli, Helsinki (from old notes). Poured black with virtually no head. Rich aroma consisting of whiskey and smoke. Roasted notes and vanilla with some (oak) wood in flavour. Pleasant bittersweet aftertaste.

(A 0.1 l pour from a 0.75 l bottle) Poured black with almost non-existent head that had brown colour. Aroma contained roastedness, liquorice, vanilla and whisky. Palate was full bodied and dry with low carbonation. Flavours were vanilla, whisky, roastedness, ash, sweetness, chocolate and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. An amazing job from Teerenpeli.

Bottled (10 cl@Teerenpeli, Turku). Quite much pitch black, small brown head. Aroma is mild bourbon, toffee, caramel, roasted malts and some slight notes of alcohol. Flavour rather much the same. Brutally nice.

Teerenpeli, Helsinki. Black colour with a small tan head. The aroma of roasted malt and whisky. The flavour is roasted malt and whisky with notes of coffee and alcohol. Slightly bitter finish and medium to full-bodied.

100 ml from a 750 ml bottle @ Teerenpeli, Kamppi. Rated @ 6.3.2010.
Pitch black colour with a very small brown head. Very, very sweet on the nose with roastiness, chocolate, licorice and vanilla. The taste is also very sweet and smooth with vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and oak. Jim Beam doesn’t come through too much. Well balanced. Full bodied, oily texture and low carbonation. Pleasant and 100 ml is just enough.

Pours pitch black color with a small beige head. Aroma of vanilla, tar, licorice, cocoa and some bourbon notes. Flavor of licorice, bourbon, tar, dark roasted malts and dark chocolate. Very nice.
