3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 9, 2007
500ml bottle shared at garden and birthday party in Hausham. Slightly cocoa smell. Deep mahogany body under a thin tan head. Mild chocolate, fresh bread and nuts in a rather complex flavour. Touch of roasted dark malt in the aftertaste (19.06.2007).
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JorisPPattyn (7312) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 17, 2007
Good, brownish head over deep-amber beer. Nutty, bready nose, autumn leaves, sweet and very malty. Nutty malts taste (maybe slightly aged?), ending on chestnut flour. Though also a bit woody, mainly one big malt explosion. Very slick, even when not very well-bodied. Long-ish sweetish aftertaste. OK Dunkel, on the sweet side.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Bov (8204) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAR 13, 2007
clear and bright amber-brown colour with a solid stable beige head; gentle aroma of butter and caramel; sweet and medium-bodied, some tartness due to the rather high carbonation; moderately dry and malty finish - not much to say on this modest beer

Aroma of roasted caramel malt and fruitiness (grapes/raisins). Clear, amber-brown coloured with a minimal off-white head. Taste is sweet, caramel malty and fruity with some grainy notes. Quite nice. Light bodied, easy drinking stuff.

Bottle: Darker amber coloured with a rocky beige head; roastmalty nose with a tinge of fruitiness (raisins); mild malty or nutty taste with a little metallic tinge; malty, caramelly finish; not bad at all, maybe a bit thinnish....
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - AUG 16, 2005
(bottle) Amber colour with a big fluffy off-white head. Earthy roastmalty nose with notes of caramel and nuts. Roastmalty nutty taste with a slightly bitterhoppy finish. A light but fine summertime Dunkel.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 leaparsons (7080) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2005
Bottle. Nutty brown with a disappearing head. Aromas are clean fresh and nutty with hints of cocoa. Flavours are light roast malts with a burnt toffee base. Fairly nutty and hoppy. Its a bit too light in character for a dunkel, but is a decent beer nonetheless.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 maeib (7557) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JAN 21, 2005
Bottled. A chestnut brown coloured dunkel with little head. The aroma is on the thin side with only a little nuttiness. The taste is also thin with only a little caramel and nut coming through. I thought it seemed too cold (drank @ The Criterion Leicester) and maybe suffered for that? But not a good dunkel.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DanielBrown (3175) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2004
Bottle at the Criterion, Leicester. I was disappointed with this product. Slightly bland Dunkel. Smooth, clean choc, but can’t escape from the fact that it’s lagered and is very quick and ckean. I still like drinking stuff like this this, but it’s just not a great beer.
