50cl bottle. Straw yellow colour with a thin white head. Floral hops and straw in the aroma. Soft to average carbonation and light watery body. Taste is a bit sweet with some bitterness towards the end. Overall, a boring beer.

50cl Bottle at Brecht. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is swampy, grainy, grassy. Flavour is very grainy, light grassy, light sulphury, bitter finish. Light bodied. Didn’t like this at all.

Bottle at Cafe Brecht. Clear gold pour with white head. Aroma is nice and grainy, light lemony notes. Taste is slightly sweet, light honey sweetness, soft, pils like breadyness. Palate is light, a bit watery. Decent.

Bottle @ Café Brecht. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, hay, initially a hint of sweetness and honey but a nice soft bitter finish. Easy drinkable clean and crisp helles. Like it.

Drink cold (8°C) Eye: Pours a light-golden color with a small, unfortunately rather quickly dissipating head. Lively carbonation, nice. there are some small plaices of foam remaining. Nose: don’t get much. a bit too cold perhaps to smell something. Hops and herbal spices perhaps. Mouth: grassy, hoppy, a bit metallic. nice tickling feeling because of the carbonation, I like that. Palate: herbal, resinous, wooden, rye, actually quite nice. Overall: nice beer actually if you like Helles

New 33cl bottles, fresh bb04/2015 (unrated: 50cl). Much creamier and flavourful than I remember this being. Nose is still strawy cow fodder, but sparkingly fresh and well-hopped cereal goodness in the flavour makes up for that. Excellent near-pils sessioner, making a classic case for Helles.

Huge thanks to heavy (and his parents who got it specially for me :p). Anyway, poured a golden-yellow body with a small, lasting whtie head. Lively carbonation. Sweetish grainy, toasty aroma, maybe some caramel, with more of the same in the taste... incredible in how this tastes exactly like some German dunkels that I’ve tried. Strange, not bad, but strange in a way.

(Bottle) from a small grocery in Berlin. Very pale color and light body, but surprisingly pleasant flavor, strong maltiness as well as a pleasant hop kick. Yeasty. Reminds me of Italian beers in style. One of my favorite Helles beers tried, but doesn’t seem typical for the style...much more yeasty aroma.
