Bottle. Amber with small head and lace. Caramel brown sugar aroma with leafy woody hop. Sweet caramel toasted brown sugar maple syrup with mild minerall mostly grassy finish. Medium full body very smooth and clean. Excellent.

At Great British Beer Festival 2015, Day 2. Clear deep amber beer with a rich beige head. Malty caramel aroma, toffee, licorice, some dark bread. roasted caramel flavor, chocolate, licorice, toffee, figs, warming alcohol. Quite nice.

Draught at the GBBF. Low fluffy off-white lasting head. Clear ruby body. Roasted malt odd vedgetable aroma. Highly carbonated choccolate chestnut caramel flavor. Very sweet long finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn. Pours a deep slightly hazy amber brown colour with an off white head. Aroma of malt, bread, caramel and plum. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, texture is slick, soft carbonation. Finish is a bittersweet dryness. Enjoyable.

Overall: nice Doppelbock, lovely sweets in aroma and palate, yet lacks maybe some complexity. Bottle from Kris Wines, Holloway.

Flasche von Ambrosetti, Berlin (MHD war schon um 2 Monate überschritten). - Hat die übliche erdige Schwere eines Doppelbocks mit massivem Röstmalz, Rohrzucker und Alkohol. Dazwischen blitzt eine freche Fruchtigkeit auf. Sämig aber nicht sirupig. Fruchtig-bitterer Nachtrunk. Prima.

Flasche 50cl. Bei diesem Doppelbock überrascht die überwältigende Malzigkeit ohne die häufigen weinigen Noten oder die pappige Süße anderer Exemplare der Gattung. Der Alkohol ist sehr schön eingebunden, gibt den Nachbrenner von hinten, ohne vorzuschmecken. Keine Diacethylnoten, perfekt ausgereift. Das bergfrische Brauwasser tut sein übriges. Wunderbar!
