Half pint at Reading Beer Festival 2013. Smoky, malty aroma. Deep, ,malty and rich. Strong, nice and flavoursome.

bottle. beers of europe. Another sweet rich malty doppelbock. Red fruit, brown sug ar, touch of bitterness and spiciness. Creamy candy finish, full of flavour and body. Great stuff.

Cask at National Winter Ales Festival. Dark rusty ale with. Decent offwhite head. Not much in the way of smell, just a light malt. Taste is a different prospect - warming, then a flood of confection malts, and a nice mild warm finish. Really pleasant. Dash of marzipan.

Brown with red accents. A touch of dark fruit and molasses accompany some pretty rich chocolate flavors. Sweet after taste with a trace of hops.

Bottled, thanks fiulijn! Hazy mahogany colour, dense creamy head. Molasses, caramek and pepper. Sweet and full bodied with dense rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and mustard seeds. Low bitterness.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, 11th February 2012 consumed at home 19th February 2012 Pours dark brown with a creamy off white head. This is just a little smokey on the nose but there is a good solid maltiness and pleasant dark sweet fruitiness, I don’t detect smokey flavours it’s just noticeable on the nose. very nice indeed. Pours dark brown with a hint of red. Good white head. Caramel, malt and a slight smokiness in the aroma. Flavours of malt and caramel.
