Bottle from the Dram Shop in Sheffield. Straw coloured with a white head. Quite sweet with wheat notes and some hay too. A bit syrupy. Fine for what it is.

Regular Tegernseer Hell is fantastic but this is barely average, if that. The taste is decidedly stale, seems rather tasteless. Something wrong with this bottle perhaps...

500ml Bottle as a Christmas gift:
Sweet lager malts and some light grassy hops along with a little citrus and touches of freshly cut grass. Thankfully there isn’t any skunk coming through but there is some faint hints of vanilla.
Yellow to golden colour with a clear body and topped with a thin, foamy white head that settles to a thin lacing covering the surface of the beer and looking very much like a lager should.
Sweet lager malts with a lacing of grassy hops although these are quite light. There is some citrus with the lemon coming out strongest whilst still remaining faint and in the background and some grain too.
Sweet with a medium body and touches of grain but a beer that remains highly drinkable and an easy one to consume. It is a refreshing beer with a well-carbonated body that has a good balance with the of tangs to it as well.

A very good beer and definitely up there with the best lager-style beers I think I have tried. Slightly sweet with a great balance between flavours and one that proved very easy to drink from the start.

Draft at GBBF 2013 - London. Pours clear yellow with a large, pure white head. Simple and sugary biscuity pale malts abound, with faint straw and cereal, too. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, some further biscuits and hay. Simple, easy drinking. Lovely.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with a note of DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Plain and simple. Not as bad as the Hell I had 5 years ago in Munich, though. A gift from the Knoblach brewer’s son (who brews at Tergensee).
