Pale yellow color, white head. Hoppy aroma but also with some diacetyl notes. A bit grassy as well. Hoppy, yeasty flavor.

Pale gold; very airy, fluffy head, leaving... eeeuuhh... German see-through lace? Nose: banana ester!! Is this a Dortmunder - or a Weizen? Bit lactic too. Ends more classical grassy. Roasted cookies, malt taste, and a bit oxidized, buttery notes. Not grainy, but quite malty. Would be quite sweet but for the roasted edge. Light body, but not thin. Limited refreshing qualities. Aftertaste yields again some hints I would expect from a Weizen. Funny. Even when it’s a bit overtime (BBd: 10/04) it presents some unusual characteristics that cannot be linked to its age. One thing’s sure: it’s German.

Draught at GBBF, August 2005. Pale straw colour. Mainly malty throughout. Bready and doughy. Not much hop presence or bitterness. I prefer my lagers a bit more zippy than this.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Quinns. Lightly hoppy and generally boring helles. Certainly drinkable, nothing offensive in anyway, just very very dull.

bottle. Clear golden yellow. Malty nose. Full-bodied and quite sweet. Lingering finish with hints of hops and banana.

500ml bottle. Firm, white head over a golden body. Sweet aroma of malts and hay. Sweet flavour of hoppy fruits and malts. Soft palate. Alright, but too sweet (hotel room, Berlin 20.11.2009).

REALLY Lovely fresh hay and herbal grassy hop aroma mingled with grainy malt. Dead lager looks. Smells exactly like a shrub in the back garden. Flavour grainy, grassy and hayish with a flourish of vanilla softness. Tastes like what all lager should taste like. Quality.

Flavor and Palate : Medium light body. Soapy with light clean character. Soft gentle malt. Solid Spezial helles beer.

Yellow color, fairly still. Dirty malt flavor, mild hopping. Easy drinking, pretty standard stuff.
