3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ALLOVATE (2108) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - OCT 20, 2011
Cask, handpump @ The Powder Monkey, Exmouth, Devon. Produced up a light burnished copper and sparkling. Big, full crown, just off-white that is lasting and shades the glass well with froth. Malty, toffee, salted peanuts and fresh baked oat cookies on the nose, thick and clean. Good lot of malt on the palate, biscuity but dry, gritty and grainy with a good whack of peppery, spicy and earthy, undeniably floral hops. Back end is bitter, rose petals and gritty malt finishing off short, dry and clean. Body is good, not too light but weighted for a great session bitter. Remarkably simple, but that seems to be the best part. Well balanced, excellent stuff!

Cask, handpump at The Cambridge Blue, Cambridge, 03.06.11 Pours amber with good clarity. The aroma is fairly standard with a little fruit and maltiness showing. Fruity in mouth and possibly a bit bigger, more full bodied and punchier than expected, some robust bitterness and a little tangy. Not bad at all. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Toffee malts, some butterscotch, florla hop and some fruityness too, but notes of diacetyl ruin it.
