UPDATED: MAR 7, 2006 Maybe I just like this style better then I used to, but to me it is a good beer. It has a nice carmel undertone and fine red color. Now this may not be my first choice it should please people fond of bock beer.

Bottle... Dark, clear ruby lager with a mid-sized, wispy, off-white head. Lengthy, tight, white retention. The nose is a touch nutty and chocolaty-sweet... very restrained until the beer’s temperature hits 75°. Full-bodied and creamy with vivacious carbonation. Malty-sweet, as a bock should be, but not cloyingly so. Plenty of spicy, earthy bitterness to balance things out. Chocolate and a touch of coffee. Crisp, lightly bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish. I guess I’ll have to go against the grain on this one... I enjoyed it. Bottle provided by scubarex!

A nice looking brown bock with a tan nutty head. A grainy finish follows a nutty smooth start. In the end it really reminds me more of a nut brown than a bock and if it were rated as such, would be higher up in my personal style percentage rating.

12 oz bottle from the gift pack. Beautiful amber/light brown color with nice, large head w/ pretty good lacing. Nice, clean lager aroma with a hint of caramel malt. Clean flavor with some sweetness and not much bitterness. Pretty good beer.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2005 Cola colored, sparse head with some lacing and a malty aroma, a touch smoky. Light to medium bodied, fairly sweet with a pleasant caramel malt and chocolate flavor moderately bitter with a smooth finish. Looks and tastes an awful lot like Huber Bock.

Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a clear dark orange color with very little amount of light tan bubbles. Aroma is of dark malts and fruit with some grass and sweet notes. Light bodied and smooth with ample carbonation. Nice, clean ending of malt into caramel. Thanks Mike!

12oz bottle pours light brown with an offwhite head that stays fairly well and laces down the glass. Aroma is sweet and smoky malts. I get some caramel, and campfire, a nice roasty presence there also. Flavor is much like the nose. Palate is light and airy. Very drinkable and quite flavorful. One of my favorites out of the mixed pack..

Malty, yet spicy, caramel, with some noticable hop spice on the nose. Pours amber gold with a white head. Dry, caramel malts, some cereal grains, not that bad actually, sweet malts, slightly spicy hops, yet very dry.

soft chocolate undertones develop into subtle bitterness followed by softly sweet malty finish.

Bottle Pours a light to medium brown. Very clear and with a large fizzy head that quickly settles to a thin off white film. Decent sheeting lacing. Sweet lightly woody, brown sugar and butterscotch aromas. Flavor is similar. Sweet, of brown sugar and cinnamon toast. I excpected a bit more robust flavors and feel. This is quite light and softly carbonated but decent. No bitterness and a light but smooth feel. Got this in a trade several months ago. Sorry I forgot from whom. Thanks who ever you are.
