750 ml bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Clear bright amber with a thin off white head. Bright, eucalyptus hops, medicinal in a way, bread crust hops, a bit phenolic, old apple juice, apple seed/peel a bit woodsy, quite odd. Medium+ body, creamy carbonation. Apple, slightly minty and woodsy, lightly phenolic, bread crust, messy; dry with limited bitterness and an equally odd/messy, slightly watery/thin finish. What is this??

Pour on tap at the brewery, slightly hazy dark reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of red fruit, caramel, some spice, yeast and steam like notes, hints of grain and toast. Taste was a mix of grain, steam beer, some spice and grain, touch of toast, finishing slightly earthy, dry.

Pours deep orange amber, write head. Aroma is grain, malt, yeast, banana, faint clove. Flavor is grainy wheat, sweet malt, light hop. OK

Dark carrot-cake orange; glassy with not a ton of head. One arc of lace at the top.
Aroma is seriously earthy, like autumn soil. Slightly thereafter, there is a musty, cellar-like and dry hay component. So far, it is all malt and yeast in the nose. Grains of paradise. There is an herbal hop to it as well. I have to say the complexity grows the more your schnozz hovers over the glass.
The flavor is a combination of sugary malts, plus a tinge of flowery yeast funk. The must is palpable, and the aftertaste is pure tartness, like lemon or key lime. Touch of grassy finish. Just this side of cardboard, but not at all unpleasant. Touch of plastic.
The feel is very slick, but chunky and chewy innards. A little bready on the back end. If you didn’t know better, you might think it was a bit old. It’s a very musty, malty ale, but a good one if you’re into that kind of thing.

Draft at chucks 85th. Pours a cloudy burnished dark amber with a loose white head. Big sweet red apple, caramel, and light cinnamon on the nose, but none of it is cloying. Smells like esters and malt sugar, not a caramel apple. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, light spice, and soft fruity sweetness on the mid palate. Quite enjiyable. Soft finish.

It’s a mouth-filling beer, unfiltered, fairly hoppy and rather malty with a subtle citrus note. Perhaps because it’s sealed with a cork, a la Champagne, some people seem to think of it as a French saison, but I’d call it just a great big amber ale. Coppery in color with a huge white head, it’s a little earthy on the palate with some sweetness showing up late. It would be great with grilled meat or particularly fish.
