3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (9095) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 4, 2012
So good to be #10 rater. 750 c&c from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Batch No. 81. Opens with a cannon shot. Pours light gold with a fizzy/creamy white head. Aroma is mildly bready with some grassy hop. Med + body. The carb is very frothy. There’s a lot of grass, and the breadiness is not obnoxious. The BC may be a bit over the top, but there’s an incredible amount of flavor. The bitter is tearing at my jaw hinges. This after finishing off a Evil Twin Freudian Slip. I’m nominating this one for an Imperial Pilsner. Excellent lager (and I’m not a friend of those for the most part).
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 BMan1113VR (7420) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 6, 2010
Bottle (Batch 55). Appears to be vastly over carbonated. Pours with a huge white head over a slightly hazy golden body. Aroma of apple, a bit of belgian yeast esters (odd), grainy, hoppy, grassy and spicy. Taste is dry, bitter, spicy and grassy hops. Very lively bubbles, over carbonated. Dry. Bland, but not bad at all.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 womencantsail (7104) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - AUG 7, 2011
A: The pour is a very pale straw color with just a thin layer of white foam.
S: The aroma on this is very, very heavy on the sweetness, seems like corn. There is some grass and maybe even green chile peppers (or some sort of green vegetable). Light malt and bread with just a hint of yeast.
T: Lightly sweet malts with lots of green, vegetal notes start this one off. There is quite a bit of grass and straw with just a mild yeast note. There is also a hint of banana on the background.
M: The body is light with a medium level of carbonation.
O: I should have known better, but my curiosity got the best of me. Not recommended.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 5000 (5000) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 26, 2013
Bottle: Orangish straw, thick and hazy, large fluffy white head, nice lacing. Grassy nose, a little dry straw/hay as well. Nice and grassy on the tongue, straw, hay, even a touch wheaty. Not as crisp as others, but it also feels a bit heftier. Backside is a little astringent, but only slightly. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Tiz okay, could stand to be a little crisper and less astringent, but I bet that it would also be not as full bodied. Seems a bigger Pilsener, at a cost.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 IrishBoy (3641) - Bakersfield, California, USA - MAR 22, 2012
Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is lightly flowery and white bread type yeast. Urine yellow with a big heavy lacing white head. Lightly bitter, lightly sweet, and a hint of caramel flavorwise. Not bitter enough for a good pils.
