COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An unfiltered, dry hopped Belgian saison, our Los Padres Ale is a beer we’re sure our fathers would be proud of. Redolent with grassy and crisp grapefruit hop aromas, a slight residual sweetness balances the beer perfectly. A hint of clove and a spicy finish make this a very satisfying beer.

Slightly cloudy amber pour with a white head. Sweet bread and fruit esters of banana, pear, and apple. Hints of citrus, biscuit, yeast, and light peppery notes. The flavor is sweet up front with lots of bread and biscuit. Pear, banana, and apple, light grass, and some citrus zest. Hints of pepper and spice.

Pint on tap, Lightly hazy with a ring of bubbles. Aroma is light funk, spicy toffee, and resin. Tastes of light funk, resin, fig, grape must, apple and toffee. Near-medium body is balanced but has a bit too much carbonation.

On tap. Pours with a large white head with good lace left over a hazy golden body. Ring per sip type of lace. Aromas are grainy, tea like, low phenol, mild esters, light citrus, peppery, 4vg. On the bland/muted side. Flavors are of tea, apricot like esters, malty, sweet for a saison, very fruit forward. Pluots. Light herbal hop character. Low carbonation for the style with a fuller body. Could use some work.

Sampled at Maximilliano in Highland Park. Pours a dark yellow/orange color. Aroma is muted to me. Tastes of vanilla with some slickness on the tongue. Not getting much of the dry hop action . On the fence about this one. I would like a little more sparkle and Belgian funk to make it really sing.

On tap: Pours orange clear yellowish, some head spotty lacing. Aroma is clove, spice and orange with a sugar candy thread running all the way through Taste is SWEET good lord this is way too sweet and sticks like crazy Palate: super sticky, hardly carbonated, not cleansing or refreshing at all. Like drinking sugar syrup. Overall: I’m no coming back for more of that. I admit I like my saisons dry (really dry) but this was so far out of the range I couldn’t get past it.

Draught at Whole Foods Devon: Aroma of fruit, yeast, slight spice, and a hint of grapefruit. Poured orange in color with a large, creamy, dense, off-white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Very hazy. Slightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, slight fruit, and grains. Light to medium body. Sticky, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Yeast, slight fruit, grain finish is lightly sweet and dry. 7%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Notes of bubblegum clove, spicy, some citrus, belg yeast... Aroma is fairly hoppy with citrus and spice notes... Lively medium body, big flavor... Hazy golden with a smaller white head... Flavorful...

I had this on tap at Telegraph Brewing. This golden saison has a nice balance of flavors and complexities.
