This intensely sour "wild ale" recalls the earliest rustic beers crafted centuries ago before brewers had an understanding of controlled fermentation. Brewed with the addition of lemon verbena, as well as lactobacillus and brettanomyces. Telegraph Reserve Wheat is an all-together different beast from modern beer. Not for the faint of heart, this special brew is available in extremely limited quantities.

Bottle. Pours an alluring golden straw color, with a slight amount of cloudiness. Fizzy white head. Lively carbonation. Very tart and earthy aromas. Lemons, citrus oil, freshly cut grass. Amazingly fresh flavors of tart citrus, sourdough bread, some woody notes. Very dry crisp clean finish. This is amazing! Easily ranks up with the top ten of its style. Highly Recommended.

Clear gold in color... Aroma of tart wheat, light funk... Flavor is light bodied yet tart, like a Berliner and a lager hybrid... Decent, not terribly exciting ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Cloudy apricot hue with a fizzy head of white that doesn’t stick around. The aroma blends several elements: lemon, wheat, peach and he ripe pear, white grapes, a splash of lactic acid. The flavor’s nowhere near "intensely sour," as the label states -- a mild, lemony acidity greets the palate before gentle pear and white grape roll in. The finish is crisp and dry; the soft body assists the beer in evacuating without leaving a trace. A nice little Berliner -- refreshing, but not too intense.

I know I’ve had this beer before, just never rated it. It seems to be the same as I remember it anyway... It pours a light golden yellow color with a big, fluffy white head. The aroma is huge wheat malt, dust, crackers and lemon water. The flavor is nicely tart and lactic with lemons and light tangerine. More wheat. Very refreshing and tasty.

Draught. Pours a hazy goldwn color with a moderate white head on there. Nose has some sour light fruit to it with a moderate amount of wheat coming through. Taste is fairly sour, but feels light and manages to stay refreshing and easy to drink.

2/10/2015. On tap. Pale yellow with a white head. Fruity and spice aromas, a bit sour, but very balanced. Refreshing sipping beer.

Bottle. Batch 136. Aromas of lemon, lactic sourness. Sour, lemon taste. Cloudy yellow with no head. Too sour .. maybe lemon verbena was too much .. or lactobacillus was predominant. Drinkable but not the best berliner wiesse or sour beer for that matter.
