(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours a dark brown with clear edges. Nose has nice sour notes and oak from the barrel aging. Slight smoke smell. The interplay of the chocolate and white wine is interesting, but not a perfect marriage. Great champagne-like carbonation and lacing. Sour lingers on the palette on this one.

(750ml bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, vinous, coffee, and light chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, white wine, light coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. Would probably enjoy more in a different type of barrel.

bottle thanks to bu11zeye. chocolate brown with a hint of ruby. nose is light roast with chocolate and slight fruits. decent on the palate with a chocolatey roasted flavor that finishes with a hint of wine tartness.

pours a pale ruby shade of coffee brown with a light brown head and lots of splotchy lacing.
aromas of scalded cream, roasty grain, lightly toasted wood, earth, something savory, vinous/red wine, spice and vanilla.
flavors of chocolate, charcoal, that same savory note which i can assume is yeast?, rich red wine and earthy smoke. there is a definite tannic thing happening which draws in the cheeks before an aftertaste of coffee. .
it is medium bodied with a pleasant acidity/mf. 8/3/8/3/16.5/3.85

Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Dark rouge pour. Highly carbonated. Dark scents and roasted elements mixed with hints of bacon. Very tingly on the tongue. Dark bitter taste like that of a roasted coffee. Decent porter, that would pair well with bacon.

Bottle from City Beer Store in SF. Dark brown in color with a large beige head. Aroma is almost like a Belgian dubbel with dark fruits and just a hint of portery roastiness. Flavor is Belgian yeast, vinous notes, and a little bit of roast/chocolate. A little weak overall. Clams on the finish. Yes clams. Medium body with a mild astringency on the palate.

750ml bottled on Jun 05 2008: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a large, airy beige head. Aroma of tart black cherries and vinous oak with a touch of roasted malt. Body starts with some effervescent carbonation and a hint of sweetness giving way to lots of tart vinous fruity notes near the finish. A pretty unique wine-barrel aged porter.
