3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Strongly resembles a coca cola. Rich malty aroma with hazel nut and milk chocolate. Nut and toffee flavor but also has a little skunkiness. Aroma kinda reminds of the rogue not brown, but the taste and texture isn’t nearly as smooth. Medium bodied and oily.

Can from Hops and Pie. Malty and sweet. Hints of brown sugar, chocolate, toffee and some nuttiness with a malt forward backbone. Nice brown ale in a can.

"OK brown ale. Average across the board...lightly roasted and nutty with a very light hop presence. Quaffable but not very interesting, really.........."

On tap. Pours a medium brown, with little white head. Aroma is malts with caramel and roasted notes, slight hoppiness. Taste is caramel malts, slight roasiness with a solid hop presence bringing slight pine notes and a light bitterness. Palate is medium body, light carb. Good beer from a not very exciting style.

Malty chocolate aroma. Taste is very malty and slight chocolate but not sweet and well balanced. Get a slight floral hop aftertaste which prob helps balance the malt. Bitter finish. Overall a very good brown.

Shaker pint draft at The Red Onion in Aspen, Colorado. The pour is a hazed brown light copper with a one inch tan head. The aroma is nut, lightly roasted malt and a soft sweetness caramel. The taste is a clean balance of the soft roast malt, hazelnut, and a touch of lingering sweetness from the caramel. The palate is light to medium bodied, active natural carbonation and the lightly sweet finish. Clean and easy drinking.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can - pour is dark ruby - thin, soapy lace - nose of hazelnut and toffee, but also some odd notes of earthy/soil and a sweet chocolate candy/tootsie roll quality - flavor is mildly sweet up front, followed by some dry roasted nut flavor, but it quickly becomes quite bitter/hoppy - I don’t inherently dislike hoppy browns, but the choice of hops here doesn’t really work - the citrus of the cascades in particular really clash with the malt profile - rough, difficult to enjoy.

Teller’s Tap Room, Golden tap ($4.75): Pours a dark brown with a creamy looking head. Aroma is roasted malt, toffee, nuts, and a bit of chocolate. Taste is a little hoppy with a nice amount of maltiness. Chocolate and nuts prevelant. Quite a nice full flavour.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Enjoying this one. Pours a very dark amber, brown. Solid tan head that disappears too quickly. Fairly well-roasted malts, some toffee for sure on the nose. Also some light bitter chocolate. Flavors are similar with nice roastiness and medium sweet that is well-balanced with good bitter finish. Nice lingering flavors and aromas on this med-full bodied brown.
