3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours very dark brown with almost no head. Brown sugar, coffee and burnt toast aromas. Sweet nutty flavors fade into some hop presence and are followed up by roasty tones. Full on the palate with very subtle carbonation.

Pour is dark brown with a red hint and a bubbly tan head. Nose is heavy roast with coffee notes. Taste is similar, lots of roast and coffee, a bit acrid and coffee bitterness. Lighter body, a bit empty with soft carbonation. Simple and singularly roasted.

Telluride, CO - OAK Beer, Bourbon & BBQ - on tap.Deep dark brown pour, soft off-white khaki colored head, solid, thick lacing. Aroma of chocolate and licorice. Bold flavor with some strong chocolate notes, some creosote, a touch of black coffee with some licorice notes in the backend. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Pretty solid. Great setting in Telluride.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pint at The Thin Man. Solid clear brown pour with red highlights and a thin off-white head. Aroma is nutty with hints at toffee and PNW hops providing suggestions of grapefruit and herbs. The palate is solid. Browns arenít my go to, but this one is pretty, pretty good. Solid malty flavors of almonds and toffee give heft without being too sweet. There is an assertive hoppiness that isnít India brown territory, but is definitely more bitter than the average brown ale. Finish is just on the sweet side, but pleasant. Very nice brown, or in the usual case of Coloradoan beers on this site, a 50 percentile.

Under rated beer. A very light brown ale slash hoppy pale in my opinion. Slight roasted malt flavor with a stein hopps finishs. Smells like roasted malts. Tasty one.

12oz can poured into a pint glass.
The Face-Down Brown pours a mostly clear dark amber with a very thin tan head that doesnít last long. The aroma is a very faint bread and caramel. The flavor is caramel and bread with a touch of floral hops. Overall the beer is a bit of a disappointment.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer is a brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and slight hops. Light to medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Strongly resembles a coca cola. Rich malty aroma with hazel nut and milk chocolate. Nut and toffee flavor but also has a little skunkiness. Aroma kinda reminds of the rogue not brown, but the taste and texture isnít nearly as smooth. Medium bodied and oily.

Can from Hops and Pie. Malty and sweet. Hints of brown sugar, chocolate, toffee and some nuttiness with a malt forward backbone. Nice brown ale in a can.

"OK brown ale. Average across the board...lightly roasted and nutty with a very light hop presence. Quaffable but not very interesting, really.........."

On tap. Pours a medium brown, with little white head. Aroma is malts with caramel and roasted notes, slight hoppiness. Taste is caramel malts, slight roasiness with a solid hop presence bringing slight pine notes and a light bitterness. Palate is medium body, light carb. Good beer from a not very exciting style.
