Commercial Description:
An exceptionally pale beer, brewed using "green" hops - harvested hops which have not been dried in a kiln. These hops were pitched to the copper within an hour of picking. Northdown hops were once highly valued for characteristics of aroma and bitterness. Now scarce, it is the only hop used in this beer.

Cask. Weak hop aroma. Clear copper colour. Nice frothy white head. Smoky flavour, nicely creamy. The smokiness reminds me a little of horseblanket. Slightly buttery flavour, too, but OK.

Cask conditioned at Charlies. Slightly hazy golden coloured. Seems more hoppy than the fuggles version. Funky barnyard notes, especially in the aroma. Otherwise fresh and hoppy with a rather bitter finish.
