Cask at the Mash Tun, Edinburgh. Large creamy off white head, good lacing, very dark brown body. Nose is smokey roasted nuts. Flavour is nuts, wood, smokey aftertaste. Mouthfeel is really smooth with little carbonation, good and chewy. Good winter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Cask at Lock 25. Smoke, chocolate, coffee and dark fruits - a very good example of a porter.

[cask, the Stockbridge Tap, Edinburgh] Black pour with a large, creamy head. Lovely aroma of slightly smoky coffee and chocolate, which follows through to the taste. Great for the darker weather, lovely balance between the roasty elements. Cracking stuff [12102013]

Cask in Stormbird. Very dark brown, off white bubbly head. Nose is black coffee, roasted malt. Taste is smooth combination of chocolate malts, coffee, roasted malt grain. Not sure why they are calling this ’deconstructed’. It’s nice and well balanced but very much a porter.

Cask at the Blue Blazer, shared with Stuartyboy. Lasting off-white head. Dark brown body colour. Aromas of dark malts, roasted and semi-sweet. Dark chocolate flavours, roasted, ash-like. Dark bitter fruity ending. Very smooth on the swallow. Fine bodied, easy drinking porter (Edinburgh 09.08.2013).
