On tap at Euston Tap. Hazy amber lasting beige head. Good fruity ipa. Lovely tropical fruit. Some syrupy malt toffee on aroma. Ok bitterness on the finish. Not so keen on the aroma but rest of the beer is very drinkable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
The taste initially reminds me of Goose Island IPA with its reassuringly woody resin, but then a soft, grapey, gooseberry fool taste emerges, and is really New Zealandy. The hops have a fantastic leafy, fresh quality (best before 22/1/14). Next, the 7%ness of the malt bill politely makes itself known, with oat & breadcrust. Couldn?t be better balanced. Really a world class IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Jelly orange murky body, film of sandy head. Plunging pithy grapefruit nose, wood sap sweet. Slippery hop high initial taste rakes in early bitterness. Crystal malty toboggan of sweetness. Squashed lemon cheesecake biscuit middle. Mouth-feel is both creamy carbonation with a frothy booze burn, which makes this eminently enjoyable even with a stringent dry hop linger.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Half, tap, the last drops from the barrel at the Hanging Bat.. Muddy light brown body, far from good looking. No head, fragile lacing. Smell of grass, citrus and mid-sweet malts. Taste alright with a mix of grapefruits and earthy malts leading to a dry bitter ending of citrus shells. Medium bodied. Ugly appearance, good to drink though (Edinburgh 07.08.2013).
